In an effort to de-clutter my living room I've decided to put my huge ass speakers and aux cord in storage and replace it with something more modern. I'd like to keep the purchase under 100$ probably, though I can go as high as 200$ if needed. What are some good products in this price range for this in the know with such things?

Sorry OP, Blue-Tooth Speakers and Audiophiles should never be used in the same context.

This is as good as you're gonna get. Don't expect anything more than clear mids and highs at polite volumes with a semblance of spaciousnes and a suggestion of low end, all of which will diminish noticeably from a Bluetooth source.

I think I paid $150 on sale for my Bose Mini Soundlink, and it's worth every penny.

Yea... audiophile and sub $100 don't really belong in the same post. Interested in answers though.

I've got a Samsung sound bar with wireless sub and built in Bluetooth
I think it was 300 a year ago so probably can find a used or older model like it now for your budget Hardly audiophile worthy but it works well. |

When I read the title, I was all like, I know! I know! W StudioSound Bar System with Wireless Streaming Price $1299.00 per system Then, I read the OP and his price cap of $100. Then I was like |

Bose Soundlink Bluetooth Spreaker III http://i68.tinypic.com/2hxuddy.jpg View Quote If you don't need portability, a soundbar will be a much better value. Keep in mind, if you get a soundbar designed to pair with an included subwoofer, the sub will likely be a flabby, ill-timed POS, and there will probably be a huge low-mid suckout which will ruin everything. Stick to a standalone soundbar with its anemic bass and volume but overall more balanced sound. |

Logitech UE Boom is the best bet in that price range http://www.sears.com/logitech-ue-boom-wireless-bluetooth-speaker-black/p-SPM12318331230?sid=IDx20110310x00001i&gclid=COTBxMHo688CFQsQgQodMTMBuw&gclsrc=aw.ds |

I know someone who has one of these and I'm always amazed by how good it sounds.
EDIT: crap url "UE Megaboom" Go the extra $, worth it! Let try this URL http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ue-megaboom-wireless-bluetooth-speaker-charcoal/8749545.p?skuId=8749545 The smaller one is good too but not as good as the big one. |

This comes up fairly often. Not calling a dupe but you might want to look here as well for other suggestions:

Bose Most of us who do this for a living don't have a high opinion of Bose. I think Bose only claim to fame was their 901 series. I've tried some of their other shit, and it was well basically shit. Over biased mid and bass to trick unwitting people into thinking they are getting a "fuller" sound. The last Bose product I bought that I actually liked, albeit way overpriced at $500+ was the 120V Sound Dock for iPods. Nice neat little portable system for outside the house or on a patio with no speakers type of application. |

Buy a blutooth adapter and use it with your current big ass stereo instead of the aux cord.

OP, I have this: Bose SoundLink
Wife keeps it going with music/podcasts most of the day and we take it with us to the lake or camping. Battery holds for several days, charges quick. And its water resistant. I paid less than $100 for mine when it was on sale from Target. |

I bought a Bose sound link mini 2 it was a good little speaker while it worked. One day the Bluetooth became spotty and now even a 3.5mm cord plugged into it produces nothing. I do miss that thing

Bose soundlink is really good and has a usable battery life. I recommended their headphones in another thread, I promise I'm not a Bose shill. They do have a few good products in a sea of garbage.
For a cheaper option, try the DKnight Magicbox on amazon. I bought one for work. Battery life is fantastic, it's loud, and syncs easily with just about any phone I've come across. It's also small and fairly light so it can fit into a pack or bag without being a burden. |

My wife had often commented about how good the speaker her hair dresser had in her salon so I found out it was this Onyx Studio speaker and bought her one as a gift, I'm no audiophile but I'm pretty impressed with the sound it produces.

So...I'm going to disregard your price point because it's not realistic. I'm not sure if you're looking for an all in one unit or not, but this is what I did.

Very good sound quality...perhaps not audiophile quality, but good enough for most. I use my Walkman NW-ZX 100 to stream over bluetooth in HD quality (FLAC or other lossless). If you're looking for an all in one unit, you're not going to find something that high quality as far as I know. |

I Have one of the JBL speakers- it's really a nice little speaker, I use it in my outdoor gym and it's great for that.
Of course, it's got nowhere near the sound quality the OP is looking for, assuming he means audiophile when he says it. |

Quoted: I recommend the JBL Charge 3. It is waterproof and sounds very good. Close to your price point as well. I use it all over the house, at the pool, the beach, etc. Long battery life and you can submerge it. https://ionesfly.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/unspecified-10.jpg?quality=100&strip=all View Quote Yeah there is something in that pic I would like to submerge in, but is sure the fuck isn't a blue tooth speaker. |

Audiophile and Bluetooth don't really go in the same sentence. (it's Bluetooth not "Blue-tooth". It's not a tooth.)
Audiophile and $100 speakers also don't go together. :) |
