What exactly was palpatine?  A sith?  Maybe someone can give a quick synopsis and description of a Jedi, sith, palpatine, etc.  Thanks

Palpatine was Sith.... the Jedi and Sith are like Catholic and Protestant rivalry. Sith left the Jedi Order because of their harsh rules on family, emotion, and other issues.

The Sith are the good guys.

Palpatine always looked that way - he just hid it with the force.

The attack weakened him and he lost his hold on his disguise...  but after the attack, there was no further need for the ruse.

Obi wan is portrayed inconsistently in those movies.  He gets his ass kicked twice by dooku.  Lucks out against grievous.  But somehow goes toe to toe with anakin?

Windu was the better swordsman.  I don't care what a non canon book says.

Read Darth Plagueis, Palpatine was toying with Windu he could have killed him in seconds of he had wanted.

Palpatine was close to all powerful in every aspect combat politics ect.

Obi Wan vs Palpatine would have been a better fight, Windu admitted to Obi Wan that Obi Wan was a better swordsman because his style was completely defensive until his opponent made a mistake Obi Wan was a master of that style... Obi Wan is the only Jedi to defeat two Sith Lords both of which were top ten light saber duelists of all time (Maul and Vader).

Anakin lost to Ben because he was very mad and rage blinded.  Plus Ben had the high ground while Anakin's over aggressive ass tried to play acrobat from the Lava.  Ben did not just fight Anakin in swordplay, he used the environment to his advantage.

Mace Windu took out a whole droid army by himself without breaking a sweat.  Best fight in the original animated series before they went CGI.

It is horrible.

Just watched parts of 1, 2 and 3.   They are HARD to watch.   No sunstance to the scenes, the acting, or the fighting.

20 pounds of shit stuffed in a 10 pound bag just like Amy Shumer.
Miss Schumer is 30 pounds of shit in a 10 pound bag.
Episodes 1 through 3 was made in a way similar to that of many first person shooter games today like COD.   Basically a list of shit they want to jam into the episode, check off this box and that box but dont try to make it actually make any sense.

The Force Awakens, even if only a remake of New Hope, actually had moments where you felt like it was a Star Wars movie.   Rogue One has some promise.

For those who havent seen the Red Letter Media reviews of Episodes 1-3 you owe it to yourself to watch as he systematically destroys those movies and lists why they fail so badly.  You will literally need a couple hours but it is worth it.

A couple of things: the sith have been master and apprentice for thousands of years. When the sixth were a larger organization, they went head to head with the Jedi and lost. After a particularly brutal loss, the remaining survivor Darth Bane created the rule of two. Central to the rule of two is the death of the mentor. At a certain point the mentor begins to threaten the student with complex traps and perilous threats. The student is expected to survive and kill the mentor. Thereby becoming a stronger sith warrior.

Slight coreection: the mentor does not always set perilous traps, that may be used as part of the apprentice's training, but the fatal killing of the mentor occurs when the apprentice believes he is more powerful and believes himself to have learned all his master can teach him. Few Sith lords present the challenge themselves

Not true in the books Bane set several traps for his apprentice. Palpatine set several traps for his apprentices. This is done to prove the worth of the apprentice.

I have played KOTR 1 and 2 and read the Bane trilogy(plus about 20 other books that are pre-new hope time line)...

I am hoping we get movies inspired by the Rule of 2 at some point and go 1000 years into the past to give us a set of DARK movies that show the Sith as many and the Jedi equal in numbers.

A Sith academy would be cool as hell and to see it laid out in ruin by one evil sith that knows true mastery of the dark side.

Basically...

Star Wars: Beginnings of the End.

Disney sees what they have with Marvel.   Hopefully they understand what they have with StarWars and dont let us down.   18-20 more years of an entire 2000+ year time line to play with.

Maybe I misunderstood your statement. Yeah, sometimes they do, but they rarely provoke the fight to the death. Banes traps for Zannah were not laid for her to challenge him then. But they are supposed to pass them, and kill the master later, so maybe that's what you meant.

You try and have a family as a Jedi. The Jedi kidnap children and brainwash them in their space madrasas.

The Sith don't give a fuck.... the Lost Tribe of the Sith had an entire civilization built on a backwater world and made it a fantastic place. They had families, higher learning, government, etc....

It also took a doubleteam and some shitty writing for Obi-Wan to take out Maul.
