So yeah, potato AF pics but they are all I took functions, feeds, and fires flawlessly so far

All this for one out of spec piece...

Tigtigtig and moar tig

Xtreme metl AF potato pic of the trigger in and the side plates doneish

Using the upper to assemble the magwell, slightly less full potato

And the mostly finished product! Needs a the buffer tube stuff still attached but thats for another day, in the mean time I'm gonna start attacking it with a file and sandpaper. I totally skipped/not going to do the LRBHO/bolt release or safety on it and just going to fill in the void/holes.

Oh and did I mention I put 5 rounds though it without a hitch using my 12.5" SBR upper? And just to share with the class, yes it is scetchy to fire an AR without the buffer or anything back there

Total investment: $43 + an afternoon

The plan is to do a kinda combination of these two builds by Proto Ordinance with the Fallout NV Service/Survivalist Rifle mixed in. It'll most likely be a 7.62x39 dissy, all wood furniture, exposed gas system, finned barrel, muzzle cone, and side charger A1 upper (yeah yeah yeah, weird but I think it'll be really punk rock )

Yep, but the trick would be getting the upper to match. I contacted turnbull about getting a stripped upper and they said they only make just enough uppers for the guns they sell

Awesome!  Needs more gears and gubbins, though.  I was actually talking to a friend about one of these builds but haven't gotten the gumption to start.

Where'd you get the templates, or did you free fly it?

Yep, I think they also weren't too pleased when I hit them with $200 for the upper either

I had that problem with a Cavarms lower, and solved it by sanding the trigger well a little bit wider.  Based on that, check clearance.

I just ruined one of those kits a little while ago

Now I just stick to 80% lowers and a router.

Disconnector is out of spec. Spacing is probably the issue.
