I saw an interview with Mel Brooks about Blazing Saddles. He said it could not be made today. Period. So a remake is right out.

That movie could not be made today without reversing all of the roles even though the movie was actually making fun of white people and treating them as the ignorant and dimwitted race. In that regard, it was way ahead of its time lol.

I doubt Hollywood could make it any less funny than they did the first time around, I think when I watched it I chuckled twice and spent the rest of the time wondering why it's such a beloved "comedy".

Why the hell would would anyone want to see that. It just cannot be made now. The cast, the times, the humor, none of it would be possible today. The characters simply do not exist in Hollywood anymore.

Fuck NO is the correct response.
