Resident Miffed Over $50 Fine for Swimming With Wife at New Jersey Condominium Complex
A 69-year-old former postal worker and his wife are among the non-Jewish residents of a New Jersey condominium complex frustrated by rules that limit mixed-sex swimming to two hours per day Sunday through Friday. Jewish law prohibits men and women from bathing together, and the rules at A Country Place were implemented to accommodate the majority of Orthodox Jewish homeowners at the 376-unit Lakewood adult community, according to The Asbury Park Press. Anyone who violates the rules on mixed-sex swims faces a $50 fine, which was what Steve Lusardi encountered when he went for a swim with his wife earlier this summer, the newspaper said. -snip- “I’ve been told, ‘This is a Jewish community. Get used to it,’” Lusardi said. More at: http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Jewish-Swimming-Pool-Gender-Segregated-Hours-Lakewood-New-Jersey-391600861.html |

My first thought is "fuck off, I'm not Jewish".
OTOH, their condos, their rules? |
|
[#3]
Just what the Hell was he expecting when he bought into a condo?

Do they have a rule about eating bacon in the pool? Because I would suddenly get a burning desire to eat a shitload of bacon in the pool. |

So are the social justice warriors that demand people bake gay cakes going to swoop in on this one?

Break the rules - pay the established fine. Don't like the rules? Don't live there.

Dumb rule, so they probably should have an Orthodox Jew only condos, but I suppose those aren't allowed by law either. And swimming is bathing? Why do they make me wash off before going into the pool and why do I shower when I'm finished? |

I'm still miffed that we can't buy beer on sunday before noon. God this shit hangs on centuries after anyone gives a shit. |

Community rules are made by committee, and the Jews stacked it.
Find a new condo. |

Dude lives in a Jewish condo. The same sorta dork, has a hissy fit because McDonalds isn't Vegan. Then again, this guy is probably just pissed, because he can't eyeball all that prime 70+Yr old poon for more than 2 hours. |

If you're an observant Jew you obey the law you choose to follow.
Expecting others to follow that law even when they don't share your faith is absurd. Punishing them for not following your religious rules that they don't believe in is religion law taking over. Not any different from the Sharia law pushers. May as well punish them for pushing an elevator button on the sabbath. You can impose whatever limits you like on yourself based on your religious beliefs. Don't expect everyone else to follow those particular limits. |

If he was told in the docs before he moved in, then tough shit. |

Oh yeah, if this was a Sharia based thing there would be massive amounts of butthurt. The Muslims can go build their own Islam condos for all I can. The gays can also build their own naked gay sex condos for all I can. I won't buy a condo in any of these scenarios. I already bought my house in the massive, white, gun owner, Christian condo known as all of East TN. If they want to live among their own kind and follow their silly rules, good for them. I assume they aren't allowed to say "Orthodox Jews only", so that's where the problem comes in. |

Time to dump a case of Dawn into the pool. Either that or a pan full of bacon grease. If I can't use the pool nobody will.

It's not bathing, it's a recreational exercise, no different than jogging, yoga or lifting. Is it $50 per time they're reported as being in the pool during "non-mixed" hours, or is it a weekly/monthly/yearly fee? |

They've been groping and raping women in Western countries ever since they started letting the Syrian "refugees" immigrate into Europe. Savages. |

Shouldn't have signed that HOA agreement I guess, huh? This. The time to fuss about the rules is BEFORE you agree to them. Ayup. If you signed the Covenant, you're bound by it. To you, it's a stupid rule. To someone else, it's the difference between eternal salvation and eternal damnation, and that's not something to be taken lightly. If the rule says, "No mixed bathing between such-and-such hours", why should you be allowed to keep everyone who agrees with the rule from bathing when they want to? |
