I personally use Buck'n'Ball. 1 - .65 cal round ball and 6 - #1 Buckshot.

I have been considering switching to #4 buckshot. I have read that it offers the best balance of penetration and energy transfer.

I don't like shotguns for HD, but when I did have one it was #4. No real rhyme or reason, though.

Five round tube?  Leave that chamber empty so you can rack it first to make the intruder shit themselves?

You'll fit right in.

First 3 are triple aught buckshot.
Last 3 are slugs.

My theory is that if I still have a problem after three shots of triple aught, then 3 slugs are probably the best solution.

This article sold me on it, potential 20% more damage and still meets penetration

I wish an ammo company would come out with 3.5" low recoil loads in 4, 1, and 00 with a flite control type cup.

The longest possible shot I could take in my house would be less than 30 feet. And #4 buck from less than 30 feet is nothing to sneer at.

So it can sit on shelves like the rest of the 3.5"?  It sounds great but will never happen unless you roll your own.
