He did an excellent job.
Edit: Don Harmon is such a baby. The issues surrounding gun ownership, gun bearing and gun purchasing is not a black and white issue and he's treating it like it is. There are so many socioeconomic factors that must be considered when searching for a solution to gun violence. The easy and progressive way out is to ban certain types of guns, ammo capacity limits etc but it is the immoral route. Gangs, robberies, single parent households, poverty, location, mental health, elected politicians, etc etc are just some of the 100's of things that need to be considered. There is a moral, legal and proper way to reduce gun violence in this country but speaking of such things in detail has become taboo. |

His presentation of the FBI statistic was a missed opportunity.
He talked about 240+/- murders with "rifles", and went on to say that such a number was small compared to the overall total. A better presentation would have used the proper term used by the FBI, "shoulder fired weapons", further explained that the category includes all shoulder fired weapons including shotguns, lever actions, bolt guns, 22 rifles...and AR-15s, then further noting that the figure for all of those combined amounts to less than 1% of all homicides. Less than 1%, even when combined with every popular hunting firearm in existance. The most popular firearm in the United States accounts for less than 1% of all homicides. Otherwise he did great. |

I can't stand the Senator talking. He ask how these crimes happen, yet when told he interrupts Todd and goes right back to how it's the gun dealers fault. Fuck that guy.
