Trump is *officially* to the left of the "Gang of 8."

Trump has been wise to make numerous *different* and wildly contradictory statements on immigration, it allows his cult-followers to invent his platform out of thin air.

The "Gang of 8" was demonized by Trump and the Trump cult for being "soft" on immigration... While Trump was early in the "build a wall" stages of his campaign.

After Trump secured the nomination, and adopted the Democrat Party "soft" platform on immigration... Trump *officially* moved left of the "Gang of 8" on immigration.

The end-result of the "Gang of 8" on immigration was *temporary* "worker status" for immigrants.

*Temporary* status has not been mentioned by Trump --or the Trump cult-- since Trumps dramatic shift (back) to the left on immigration... The end-result of Trumps "soft" immigration policy is massive numbers of Democrat voters.

The "Gang of 8" called for a border wall to be built, every immigrant entered into a database, a tracking system for every immigrant, immigrants who violated the law to be deported, and then **temporary** worker visas will be given to those with jobs.

Trump has made multiple contradictory statements on immigration. This allows his cult followers to invent his platform on immigration.

But if you look at Trump at the whole... Trump was pro-amnesty prior to running.

While running, Trump stated that he would "expedite" --that was Trumps word "expedite"-- **FULL** citizenship for illegal immigrants.

And now Trump has stated that he is softening his stance on immigration, a clear-cut flip flop.

The "Gang of 8" never put amnesty on the table. They put "temporary worker status" on the table. Trump has --officially-- put amnesty... Full-amnesty on the table.

Nobody trusts Trump. I did not like the "Gang of 8" proposal... But the truth... Trump is *officially* to the *left* of the "Gang of 8."

And the humorous side to all of this... Trump is to the *left* of the "Gang of 8" on immigration now that he has moved (back) to his socialist roots... But he (and his cult followers) demonized the "Gang of 8" earlier in the campaign...

Nothing is funny with two amnesty monkeys on the ballot... Hillary and Trump. Nothing is funny when both candidates promise to explode the number of Democrat voters... But I do see some humor in Trump (and the Trump cult) demonizing the "Gang of 8" only to defend amnesty now...

My "scam" is to discuss Trump's complete 180 on immigration.  I know that doing a 180 is nothing new to you but it bothers a lot of people when a candidate takes a hardline stance on his signature issue in the primaries and then throws it out as soon as he gets the nomination.
 

Which matters why in 2016? We have blacks and hispanics who never voted Republic coming out to support Donald Trump and we got Republicans who can not wait to support Crooked Hillary are every turn. So what would 1980 have to do with jack and shit at this point. Hell we got a former liberal NOW activits Lesbian who supports Donald Trump because the "Democrat policies are killing the country and the middle class".

There is no good reason. None. No good reason to move to adopt your opponents campaign platform.

It means that Trumps internal polling matches Hillary's. Trump is losing, and big time.

There is no strategy that says, "When you are beating your opponent solidly, move to adopt their platform issues."

That is a losing strategy.

The Democrats are playing checkers, to defend a vulnerable Hillary. Trump is playing another game altogether, and his paid advisors are his Democrat-funding, Democrat-supporting kids.

When Trump entered the race, what policy, more than any other, was "striking a chord with frustrated conservatives"?  You already know that the answer was his tough stance on illegal immigration.





Now that he has secured the nomination, he has abandoned that stance.  





So, the good friend of Trump who happens to be the spouse of the woman who has been seeking the presidency since Bill left, tells Trump he should play a bigger role in the party and that he was striking a chord with frustrated conservatives.  At the end of the call, the husband of the presumptive Democrat nominee is "upbeat and encouraging" while Trump was telling him he wanted to run.





Can you honestly say that circumstances like this should not be questioned?  That we should not be suspect of Trump's true intentions?

Yes, you are correct.   They engaged in wishful thinking, and had an optimistic view of the Republican electorate.  Yes, they were wrong.

They predicted that the Republicans would never be so stupid as to nominate Trump.  Yes, they were wrong.


But in how they characterized Trump, and predicted his flip-flops and penchant for Big Government solutions?   They have been eerily accurate.
