Late update. Watch your local Walmarts for $4 30-06 and .243. I now have 100 rounds of .243 and I have nothing chambered in it! The wife says I'm a hoarder, and that was BEFORE I told her I have no .243, LOL!

Also, keep on the look out for $35 Beeman .177/.22 combo air rifles and Bushnell 4x32 .22 scopes at $7.

I also saw a few AR Optics red dots at Upper for ~$50. (micro dot size)

Perfecta .308 FML. $10.97/box
Federal 3" Mag 12ga Slugs. $1.50/box
Winchester PDX1 .40 $5/box
Remington .22 Air Rifle. $40.

The Delaware, OH store still has some 20ga slugs for $1.50/box and a few boxes of the .308 FMJ
The Upper Sandusky, OH store has a Beeman dual-caliber air rifle for $79, another of the Remington .22 air rifles. Perfecta .308, and other stuff at decent prices. They even have a TLR-1 for $100.
The Portsmouth, OH, Waverly, OH, and Circleville, OH locations have nothing special on clearance. The Circleville store does have a Marlin.45-70, priced at $62x.

.
Thanks for the tip on the Remington Express .22. I scored the last one in my AO

Ok so what kind of accuracy are you guys getting with your American's. I'm averaging close to 2moa with my 243. Hoping it tightens up after shooting it a bit more.

Oh wait I forgot this is arfcom, where the great majority buy guns just to have, not use.

Mines about 1.5 right now with federal fusion I'm going to play with more after hunting season I want to see if my daughter or wife can get a deer with my budget hunting score lol... I've read that removing it from the stock and sanding the channel really helps because there's a ton of them that sit slightly off center then can touch the barrel  to the stock causing issues that's where I'm going to start but for the price I'm still happy as shit

Anything from the original run that is remaining has been marked down even more. Found one box of Winchester slugs left today and it had been marked down to $1.50. Wonder if Winchester would pay a $2 rebate for it?

Thanks to the person that mentioned perfecta ammo. I got 31 boxes of .243 from three Walmarts, two had them @ $4.00 per box, the third had it at $8.96 a box. Also found a Bushnell TRS-25 on clearance for $54.00, but it rang up as $31.00. I lost the red dot receipt, but I have the $4 ammo receipt if anyone wants the SKU.

I mentioned on a previous page that ammo cans were $4.88; I got a bunch of those a few days ago. I spray painted some of the cans in FDE but they were all green originally. The plastic ammo cans kind of suck though, so try not to use heavy ammo if you get them.

Knife threads

Smith & Wesson knives $1-2.50
Remington knives
Gerber multi tools and some bear grills stuff
SOG knives
CRKT knives
Ontario knives
Camillus knives
Sheffield knives
Maybe more.

Clean them out boys and girls.

Stuff is buried, you gotta dig and get them to look under counters.  All mine were buried.

Happy hunting.

I purposely avoided some Walmarts, so they've probably got stuff.

Walmarts  I avoided just because of overcrowding, heavy traffic in the area, and/or trashy people:

1300 S 300 W
3100 S 5600 W
6200 S 5600 W
9800 S 1000 E (IDK exact address)
4500 S 900 E

The Walmart on 5400 S Redwood for sure has ALL of the sale item guns in stock except for the Marlin 45-70, but the staff is so useless it'll take you a minimum of 2-4 hours to buy a gun (they tell you this up front).

Jordan Landing is the only Walmart not participating in the sale. The Tooele store has Ruger American .223 for $169, or at least that's what I paid.

This is roughly half of my UMC haul from August.  This was from 1 store,  I didn't take pics of the other stores I cleaned out.

http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k221/gunnar420/IMG_20160828_153047.jpg

Funny thing is, I wasn't even really looking for the ammo to start with.  Just happened to be at one Walmart friday night with my brother. We were looking for some rings for a scope he has.  I saw some of the UMC on the shelf, and remember hearing it was on clearance.

Well it was marked like $68 or something. So I checked the app to see if any other stores had any. All the stores in town showed $68.  However, the store a half hour to the north had some in stock for $35!!

So yesterday after my daughters soccer game, I shot up there anticipating the usual Walmart shenanigans.  Expecting to be leaving empty handed with my head hung low.

Get to the SG counter.  There is a half dozen people standing around the counter.  I began looking to see if I could spot the ammo, but had no luck.  The older gentleman working asked if he could help me find anything.  I asked if he had any of the UMC 9mm 250 packs?  He replied that he didn't know what a UMC was? Lol.

Well the younger manager was there finishing a gun sale when he overheard us.  He said if it he didnt see it on the shelf to look under the counter.  He proceeds to look and sure enough there is a box.

Manager then comes over and scans the box..."Says we have 13 on hand.".
He then asks me how many I want.... I could feel the beard on my neck grow a lil when I said "ALL OF EM!"
He says he's gonna go in the back to make sure he still has them, after he's finished with the gun sale. .

So I wait around about 10 min.for him to finish the sale.  Says he's gotta give the gun guy the perp walk, and will check for any ammo on his way back.  About another 10 min goes by, when he comes wheeling out a cart with 12 more boxes on it.

Paid $.15 per round, and had one of the friendliest Walmart experiences yet.

I know CSB.

Let's do the math, shall we?

Good reliable brass cased 9mm in that same QTY is available for around $763 shipped.

You paid $494.

That's a savings of $269.

Too bad that's not enough money to cover the cost of you blown up gun from the UMC.

The only factory ammo I've had problems with was WWB .32 ACP fired out of an Enfield using a chamber adapter. Lodged a bullet. The only issues I've had with UMC is poor neck tension when reloading it.

I was able to find some of these items in the app.  Seems the sale hasn't hit here yet.  For example the Victorinox is $11ish

Emailed pics of UPCs.  I'm hoping you were the member compiling the cheat sheet of UPCs posted earlier in the thread.

I went out last night to look at three stores.  No luck, however.......

The knife clearance reminds me of the Nikon clearance.

The boxed knives tend to be on clearance, but the same knife in a clamshell isn't.......but one store did have the clamshell Sogzillas on clearance.

Not all stores are completely up to date on clearance.  I found more Gerber MPs in the box but they were full price.  Same with Gerber Suspension.

The good stuff is buried behind the counter or in drawers.  Most is not marked.  Unless you know it's likely there, you won't find it.

Using the Walmart App to find knives works well.......however I did find a few knives that the App had no clue that the store had in stock.

Are any of the Camillus knives decent?  I passed on all of them that I saw.

Edit 1: I forgot that I've seem the Buck Bantam knife for $4.00 on the app.  Haven't found that one in store yet though.

I purposely avoided some Walmarts, so they've probably got stuff.

Walmarts  I avoided just because of overcrowding, heavy traffic in the area, and/or trashy people:

1300 S 300 W
3100 S 5600 W
6200 S 5600 W
9800 S 1000 E (IDK exact address)
4500 S 900 E

Looking at the Utah guy's hauls, I am guessing it is not worth my time to check any of the stores in the Salt Lake area

All of my neck-bearding was done in August, and all in south Utah County.  To hell with Salt Lake County Wal-Mart's.

After seeing further markdowns, I went back and checked the Mossberg 930 my store still has.  It was still $299.  I'm considering if for the wife to use as a duck gun, but am just not a big fan of Mossbergs. Still tempting at that price.

What search terms are yall using to find the knives?  Wondering if they're like the clamshell Nikons, which show up under "sportsouth LLC" or ?

It's not just Walmart now. For members in the Midwest Mills Fleet Farm has been clearancing a lot of poorly selling items since summer. markdown guns are mostly gone, but the store in Mason City, IA has some reloading stuff near or below half price(NOT all of it, just scattered items that don't sell well). Some dies for less popular calibers, .454 Casull brass is around $18 for 50, and they have CBC .50 BMG ammo clearance to $19.99/10 rounds. Makes me REALLY wish I had a .50 and a place to shoot it.

Me and a friend hit up 10 walmarts across two states.  We hoped to find the 5 dollar winchester 223 and 7 dolllar 30-06.  One store said they had 32 boxes of the federal slugs, but couldn't find them.

This what I have to show for it.

Two boxes of 410 were clearanced at 10 bucks a box.  Each box of 12GA slugs were 1.50.  CR123s were at 4 bucks.  The binos at 13.

My local guy said they had some 357 Mag in the back for $7 buck a box.

He brought out 7 boxes  of Remington 357 JHP (50 round boxes).  Got all that, and one box each of Perfecta 243, 30 06, and 270 for $4 each per box.

This thread has killed my wallet, but the family, especially the in-laws, are gonna have a good Christmas.

We've had two good guys running the sporting goods counter here over the last few years.  Traveling around to different stores has made me realize that's not the norm.
