It's time so I'm starting it. Go WR heavy. It's a passing league. Outside of the top 3 bellcow RB you need to grab those tier 1 WR before them. If a bellcow RB falls to you at pick 7 then take it. Avoid bell. Target Lamar Miller late in the first. Avoid Rawls. Go WR heavy if you can on the front end.

And do mock drafts to see what happens if you take gronk. You fuck yourself if you do.

At pick 5 he was a good pick. You have the true top 3 WR and 3 RB. Get your stud. Once the top 3 WR are gone you have to grab that top Tier RB.  I do mainly auctions. In a snake I'd want pick 5-6.

If he falls to you then take him. But WR are where you go. 3-6 rounds are more important. The first 2 rounds are easy.

Once you go auction you'll never go back to snake.

I won't draft AP. Too old, with an injury history. Gronk was still available, but I drafted him first round last year and I wanted to try a different strategy.

Yeah, I'd rather be at 3-5 this year.  You'll get two nice tier 2 players but no real tier 1 stud.  I prefer 12 team leagues, more challenging and you need to really work waivers.  The skill aspect becomes more apparent in 12-14 team leagues.  14-16 are brutal though.

I liked our league better at 10 people. 12 people doing 12-14 round draft takes for fucking ever, we had to bring in a timer because people were taking so damn long to pick. Round 12 and you take 7 fucking minutes to pick????? gtfo. 2 min timer on picks now.

Our 14 man auction takes 3 hours.  But yeah folks need to be on a 90 second timer.  Once you go auction you'll never go back to snake.  Just like once you do FAAB waivers you'll never go back to that crummy waiver priority line.

Your thoughts on going WR heavy if you can't get a top 3 RB, are you thinking that for any value per reception or just ppr?

RBs get hurt. Look at last year. Look at the top projected RB and where they finished. Look at the 1st round bust. Get your stud WR unless tier1 backs fall to you.  It's no longer a RB heavy strategy. Regardless of scoring. The drop off from RB is steep but I'd take a WR in the first 5 picks. Depends on who's there.

You need to get away from the old RB in 1st round mentality. There are so few 1st round RB worthy of drafting. Depends on your pick. Late 1st rd. Sure take that RB.

But if you dominate at WR you will win. The rbs are just there to get you 10 points. While your 3 WR get you 18 each.

Excited for FF this season. I need to start getting my pick list going. I also plan on going WR heavy in the first few rounds, then maybe picking up a top 5 TE if one is still available. RBs are 3rd priority. The last two years I've always ran with RB's I've picked up after week 2-4. There always seems to be a RB that doesn't get drafted that lights it up and emerges as a top RB. Murray was an exception when I drafted him two years ago when he was still in Dallas.

so i play in an auction keeper league... we get to keep five players from last year at a $3 increase...

i got gurly and amari cooper at crazy good deals last year... of course if i keep rodgers at the $50 i'll owe, that really hamstrings me...

plus, so many other qbs are taken, and rodgers would have an amazing game followed by some real shitty games..

i think i'm gonna have to wait and see who gets dropped after everyone keeps their 5 players, hopefully i can find some cheap value.

I totally understand the switch to WRs being high priority but that leads me to the next question, where do you rank QBs?  Are they now ahead of RBs in your draft strategy?  I always try to double up by picking a QB and his #1 WR, just not sure if that's more important than trying to land a high level RB.

You typically want to wait till round 7+ for QB.  After the top 3 the next 10 are all the same.  That allows you to load up at other positions.

Just did an auction in a $50 yahoo 10 man. Kind of a bland team but I went with a little different approach than I usually do in an auction. It seems like it ended up being an alright team.

$200 budget

Starting lineup

QB - Andrew Luck - $15
WR - Julio Jones - $61
WR - TY Hilton - $25
WR - Golden Tate - $20
RB - Latavius Murray - $16
RB - DeMarco Murray - $14
TE - Coby Fleener - $8
K - Steven Hauschka - $1
DEF - Carolina - $3

Bench

WR - Michael Floyd - $7
RB - Jeremy Langford - $9
WR - Michael Crabtree - $6
RB - LeGarrette Blount  - $7
RB - TJ Yeldon - $3
RB - Derrick henry - $5

Woohoooooo!

Good to see a lot of the same names as last year, Spidey, Zoot, ludder, benj, capn-morg. I'm sure the others won't be far behind.

Good luck in your drafts fellas.

Keeping Gurley in my main league this year.
