Registered unaffiliated for the first time in 25 years of voting after that shit show of a primary. The GOPe was bound and determined to pick a looser.

The old parties/ideologies aren't as relevant as they used to be. It's globalist/elites against nationalist/citizens now.
The illegal immigration issue perfectly crystallizes this. I hate illegal immigration because it harms the country I love. Both parties are dominated by globalist elitists who don't care, illegals further their interests they hold higher than the country. And seems to be this way in most Western countries now except for maybe eastern Europe, Switzerland, and Australia. Illegal immigration is plainly hurting Western European countries, and their elites don't care. They won't halt it. |

I am a registered Republican for primary purposes. So yes, legally I am a Republican.
I identify with the libertarian (small 'L') philosophy. |
|
I have always been a registered Republican and intend to keep it that way for the foreseeable future. I did consider leaving the party if certain things happened at the convention, but I knew that I really had nowhere else to look, especially since I want to have at least some say in primary elections. generally prefer Republican candidates but have voted for 3d parties and certain Democrats in the past as well, with RKBA issues being my greatest area of interest/ concern, followed by other social issues (I identify strongly as a law and order conservative and tend to have relatively traditional/conservative social values, though I've eased a little on those the past few years). I am really not supporting my best financial interest by supporting the Republicans- but I generally agree with the party's fiscal and economic policies, though with very mixed feelings on social spending (caused by a conflict resulting from my very strong social values- on one hand I loathe the concept of using public funds to subsidize individuals' bad and often immoral lifestyle choices however I also question how we could have a first world society where we have so many impoverished people who live marginal existences, and others literally living in the streets with no real mechanism for self-improvement, because of the other values that we cherish. I believe that we need to live up to being the exceptional nation that we are

I am a conservative
I'll be changing my party affiliation to Independent |
|
I am not and have never been registered as a member of any party, nor have I ever called myself a Republican.

Quoted:
Nope. GOP only sucks slightly less than the Dems. View Quote I'm a betrayed, pissed off, conservative-leaning Libertarian minded Independent. Who absofuckinglutely won't vote Dem (unless I lived in Milwaukee county I'd vote Clarke for Sheriff. What has been done to this country is criminal, and needs to be reversed. I doubt I'll see it in my lifetime, we need guillotines, torches and pitchforks to undo what has been done and get the point across at this point. |

Conservative here, and I do not mean a "Reagan Conservative" as I consider myself to be a real one.
The constitution is the constitution, and the law is the law. |

We live in a constitutional republic. So I guess technically I'm a republican (lowercase r) not a Republican (uppercase R). |

I'm an anti-progressive, I'm fiscally conservative, want as little government in my life as possible, and I don't care how others live their lives as long as I'm not paying for them. I used to be registered non-partisan but signed up as a republican to try to keep zero out of office. I voted for McCain, I voted for Romney, but I'm done. I will vote on all the other stuff on the ballot but am abstaining from the Presidential pick. Doesn't matter anyway since I live in Kalifornistan, the electoral votes automatically go to the hildabeast

I was a registered Republican for almost 30 years but changed my affiliation to Independent 8 years ago.

Don't give a fuck about religion, gay people, or abortion but want fiscal responsibility and a society that promotes individualism.
|
|
No. Wake me up when Republicans return to small government principles and fiscal responsibility. I will evaluate my decisions then.

I'm an anti-federalist with strong libertarian (small L) tendencies. I vote for the people with the best chance of defeating socialism / communism (aka democrats in the United States). Unfortunately that rarely gives me a choice other than to vote republican. But I don't like the GOP. |

Also i dont get all of you people that refuse to register for a party unless you live in a state where you dont have to register to vote in the primaries. If your sick of all these shit candidates the parties are putting out go register and change them from the inside. Shit go register as a democrat just to pick a loser in the primary.
Like i said above i am pretty much an anarchist but you can bet your sweet ass i register as a republican so i can have some say in the candidates who will be elected. Registering as an independant in any state that requires you to register to vote in the d or r primaries is throwing away the little bit of influence you can have on the two parties that arent going away any time soon. |

Conservitarian.
You should be able to smoke heroin and shoot machine guns as long as you don't hurt anyone. This is GD so, yes of course in the middle of a crowded street. Not on your own land. That would be silly. You should not be on the hook for another person's welfare. |

Not anymore. My eyes were opened in the early 2000's when I saw the results of having a Republican president and Congress.
Once my eyes were opened and I shed my blind nationalism and "Rah Rah 'Murica" mentality it became very obvious that the two major parties really are two sides of the same big government coin. I consider myself a little "L" libertarian or a minarchist and don't align myself with a political party. |

Not after this abortion of an election cycle, but I'll probably remain registered as a Republican for convenience. I am a Constitutional Conservative: follow the Constitution. No more, no less.
|
|
No, I call myself a conservative.... But I still stand up for the republican schmucks in conversation because I'm in CA and a RINO is closer to a conservative than anyone else in my zip code.
