8 perfectly crafted songs form this metal masterpiece. Classic and timeless. Others come close but none surpass the MASTER! http://metworld.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/cover_masterofpuppets_lg.jpg Any other answer is ridiculous. Anymore, I prefer Ride. |

For me it's a tie between Rust In Peace and And Justice For All https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bd/Metallica_-_...And_Justice_for_All_cover.jpg View Quote Hard to beat these two |

For me it is: Ride the Lightening
But the thread is remiss without mentioning : Appetite for Destruction |

Some great choices in here. For me however, it's either Black Sabbath, or Paranoid. Those two albums must have seemed like they were dropped off of another planet when they hit in 1970.
ETA: My favorite Sabbath album is actually Sabotage.

Rust in peace is very good. But I m going to have to go with Seasons in the Abyss.

It'd be impossible for me to pick one and say "this is the best metal album ever". There are some good suggestions in this thread- Reign in Blood, Master of Puppets and Vulgar Display of Power are classics for sure.
But somebody posted Mastodon's Leviathan and somebody else posted Opeth's Blackwater Park. Those are great albums too. I couldn't pick a favorite among those 5, let alone say one of them was the greatest ever. |

So, so, so many when delving into some of the more obscure sub genres of metal.
This may not be the best, but one of the blackest. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SltIjR87Z2I |

Quoted: I had tickets to see them again with lamb of god and Gojira, but that tour got cancelled when Randy Blythe got arrested in the Czech Republic on that manslaughter charge. That would've been a great show, too. The first Acid Bath cd, I don't remember the name.
Pantera Coybows from hell. |

I was beginning to think it was so deep that even the title contained obscure words. |

Too many sub genres. For vocal strength alone, I'm going with Operation Mindcrime. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile View Quote I agree with your first sentence. Can't exactly compare apples to apples. For whatever reason, I'm not super familiar with Queensryche. Guess I should check that one out. |

Rust In Piece rocked. Seasons in the Abyss (Slayer) and Number of the Beast (Maiden) are also up there.
