Lucas got is first goal for the Red's in elleventy billion years.

At the end it was him and a bunch of kids on the pitch.  I think in age order it went Lucas, Origi (he's 21), etc.

Yeah. Spurs were really lucky today. They didn't deserve the tie, but hey, I'll take it. 2 pts would have been nice though, with the Scousers losing.

We were really missing Vertonghen today, and it showed. Thankfully, Alderweireld is alright, just some tightness.

Head-to-head with Gary Cahill. A pure accident. No malice. youtube vids are easy to find. I see no point in posting here.

Yep. Two men going for the ball, meeting at the same place and same time.

Hopefully both men fully recover

they had a mid-week game, then the FA Cup tie, then Chelsea on Tuesday...what kind of side did Klopp field today?

A 2nd team side with a couple starters, basically.

ETA:  I already appreciated Mane, but him being gone for the African Cup has really driven home how important he's been to this team.

I really disagree with the way Klopp has handled these non-EPL games, especially the condition that the starting 11 are in.  They're in no European race, the starters are fresh but looking like crap at each end of the field against even the weakest EPL teams.  He should have been using these games to get the team back to firing on all cylinders, building their confidence.  What confidence are they going to carry into Chelsea after this?  Let alone the fact that you're now out of the EFL and allowing a Championship team to score 2 on you AT HOME to kick you out of the FA cup.  What in the hell are you saving your starters for if they're not performing when it counts anyway!?

I'm all about building the youth of the club, but not at the expense of the heart of the team.  This team has no heart now, no confidence.

And get fucking Karius out of there already.

Been traveling the last two weeks. So I'm caught up.

Rooney - nice strike to pass Sir Bobby. Not a cheapie.

Still a draw didn't do much

And EFL final despite a lackluster performance against Hull, who where the better team and showed style in the win.

I'm not prone to commenting on other teams but LP seems to be floundering a bit. Cups should matter enough to put an A Class team on the pitch.

Mourinho is doing it. If they max out on Cup and Euro matches they will play 66 games. I posted earlier a deep team is important. And ManU still has its struggles.

Shaping up to be a good run in the last 16 matches.

They go in thinking the win is theirs without having to earn it. Klopp said that a few months ago when they lost.

They won't have to worry about that against Chelsea today.  With these midweek fixtures, damn work is interfering with my football watching.

FA Cup match.

Mourhino changed out 9 players and still fielded a class team. Schweinsteiger did well in his first start in nearly a year. Added a pretty decent goal as well.

What's the take?
I got home to watch the last 4 minutes.

Good penalty call ? Looked like defender got the ball before contact.

Good save on the PK.

Well played match it sounds like from the post game.

Arsenal fell to Watford and spurs drew.

Well that is the bottom line I suppose.

ManU still 6 points off the money, but can make up some ground tomorrow with a W.

Need City to lose.

Sounds like you had a good day all around!  LFC played well enough to win if they had a few more bounces go their way. The penalty call was bullshit, by the way.

Wallowing in mediocrity again

Bottom team no brilliance.

Manic. The Red Devils are manic. Can't seize a chance to make up ground. 9 fucking draws this season. 9.

I feel like it's back 14 matches ago.

Truth. They should have lost.

Another keeper stands on his head ala the Burnley match.

Meanwhile City knocks in 3 goals by half time.

These performances and results against the shit teams are hard to handle. I concur Star_Scream about wtf with bottom table teams.

Fuvking Hull 4 times this year.

3-1 First late goal from the meaty French forehead this season that hasn't meant something.

As a gooner I'm not happy but have always liked and respected Antonio Conte. If someone else's going to win the league, let it be Chelsea in a runaway. Better him than the much ballyhoo'd Manchester managers.
