WHAT?!?!?! I would not buy that without some damn good hearing protection and or a suppressor.

I built a Leonidas a year or two ago. It is probably my favorite gun that I own.

Plan a suppressor, short barrel 308's are pretty nasty. i have 2 SDN-6s one will be on this bad boy if i take the plunge, or ill just pick on a silencerco omega. According to even AAC QD suppressors such as their SDN6 and the 762SD aren't meant for precision rifles. I chased POI shift for a long, long time with my 762SD and finally gave up. They highly recommended direct thread models. |

The latest versions though, they pretty much have every single kink worked out. Prices are hefty, even at dealer price Been wanting one for years, but I think I'll just be happy with my SCAR and save up the money of a more modern bolt gun than my M40A1. |

Original N6 absolutely; they're crazy accurate. If I had the cash I'd probably get the SBR version just for the hell of it, so I say go for it. Bet it will wreck a muzzle device in short order and I'd be sure to buy a super durable can because I wouldn't be firing that beast without one.

I have the Armalite pattern Leonidas N6 and have been in the AR10 game when Armalite was the only civilian option (1997) Knights was around but having one was expressly expensive.
My gun just plain works . I have used it for outlaw 3 gun matches with the KX3 and a SN6 mounted . The gun is just plain fun. Get it if you can. I'm at six AR10s with two of them N6s. I posted a picture years ago in the Armalite forum when we had one. I would do it now , too hard on iPhone. Never had a hicup . Get it Lv |

If it was me I'd get a MEGA and build it right. I also own a Noveske and the MEGA is in fact nicer.
My MEGA MATEN is in 6.5CM, but same frame. |

There used to be a long thread around here somewhere on getting a short-barreled AR10 to run right. It was my motivation to just get a factory built one.

There's a near 100-page thread about the MEGA MATEN in the variants forum, no trouble at all getting you good parts that will integrate. |

First of all a 12.5 308 is fucking great. Second, the energy from a 168 at 2200fps is still advantageous advantageous to a 300 BLK. Third, large frame receivers and components have chil come a loooong way in the last few years, and the headache can easily be mitigated. DEFINITELY go Mega. The only thing i would think about doing different is possibly using one of the new smaller frame models. Fourth and final, they aren't NEARLY as nasty to shoot unsuppressed as many want you to think. I shoot mine in heavy metal 3-gun about 2-3 times a year. With a quality break and adjustable gas block, you'll find throwing $2 at every target addicting. I say definitely go 308 SBR, but build your own smaller frame Mega (if they are out yet, if not then standard MA-TEN FTW!) |
