I still get a good bit of 5.56 down range, as well as pistol.
For the last six months though, I've been loving shooting my 45-70. I take it out probably four times a month and shoot several boxes. A buddy of mine finished a .458 SOCOM around the same time, so it's nice to be able to swap them on range day. I really like shooting the Poly ARX in the .458, but I love shooting heavy weight bullets in my Henry. Anyone else shoot some larger bore rifles a lot? (Bonus points if you have a 55 Boys, even if converted to 50 BMG) Anyone have a cool African continent rifle they don't shoot much but is in a unique caliber? (.375 H&H won't make this one, sorry.) Anyone have a big bore Nitro or...dare I ask...a Tyrannosaur? Can we talk about some larger bore rifles? (I'd add shoulder fired, but I'm always down to see some Barretts.) |

5.56 and 7.62 are bigger than .4
I have a .44 mag Marlin lever gun that I got from my grandfather. I guess that's the only one that fits. |

I shoot my .458 Win Mag more than anything else because I picked up a bunch of 350 gr bullets cheap awhile back.
I havent found the 'cheap' .416 gr Speers in stock for awhile. |

I own half a Rhodda (long story) in .500 BPE but it does not get shot much.
.45-70 out of the guide gun or ruger #3 usually. |

I have a winchester in .416 rem mag. I don't shoot it as much as I would like though. And I don't load it up as much as it can take.
Check out cutting edge bullets. Correct length to caliber ratio in a light copper alloy. It makes for incredibly fast bullets. I have 180gr for my .416. Quick. |

Make my own loads with reproduction rubber cases (as used in the Civil War), 230 grain cast lead bullets, and 30 grains by volume of Hodgdon 777. Don't shoot it often because it's an original, but my two boys and I took it to the range on Father's Day along with an M1 Carbine and two AR-15 mass murder weapons of mass murder. View Quote I understand why you don't often, but my hats off to you for shooting that. Guns like that are so neat, and while guns with history shouldn't be abused, you can't be the impotent Ferrari collector that never breaks 70mph. I'd shoot it occasionally too. That's a unique gun to own, judging by all the guys I've ever shot with. |

But i do all of my own hand loading. Factory ammo is the kind of thing that really gets my attention. Both with the price and also with the recoil. |
