A former CIA officer who was accused of taking part in an illegal counter-terrorism programme said she is facing imminent extradition to Italy from Portugal after a high court in Lisbon rejected a last-minute legal appeal.

FPNI, as usual.

But the fucking kenyon might have thrown her under the bus anyway, as she has been critical of the CIA.

And it sounds like her trial in-absentia in Italy is another shining example of the Italian legal system at work.

Who outed her? All the other agents used assumed names, so are safe?

Was she mentioned in an e-mail on a certain server containing other DoS information? That was not quite secure.

Something is very fucky in this story, as is the case with most CIA, DoS cases.

Something reeks about all of this.

Even Abu the Bomb Maker (the one who was kidnapped) has come out in her defense.
Albeit for snitching on the CIA, but he still is on her side

I guess you didn't hear that marching orders for the "European Union Army" will be coming from Federica Mogherini, who heads the EU's Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

The Italian socialist politician currently heads the EU’s disastrous policy for the 'migrant operation' in the Mediterranean. She will also script and oversee any operational directives for the European Battle Group - putting troops firmly under the command and control of Brussels.

Ciao!

From what i recall, someone wrote a pretty good critique of what went wrong...it may have been lack of what these groups call tradecraft of spy skills....they used their secret phones to call their actual personal voicemail, the embassy, also used real ID in order to get upgraded at local hotels they were being housed,  throw their air miles into their frequent flier cards and so on

I think Italian police IDd pretty much all of those involved

Probably because they had the blessings of the Italian government at that time.  As well as the U.S. government.

The critiques are out there... It described that the agency moved away from what you think is an 'operator' to more of a multicultural group of intellectuals, ivy leaguers, and state department blue bloods, they had the minimum training but lacked operational skills (and probably common sense)...maybe this wasn't their A-Team, but within a few weeks of the event, a number of cellphones were identified and all it took was a cop with some connect the dot skills to look at the 'burner' phones calling each other, the us embassy switchboard, USA numbers, that included some preparatory school in VA where someone's kid was attending...voicemails on their personal cellphones, their hotels (maybe asking about what time happy hour was)

The hotels had some of their actual ID, as they had used their resort points to upgrade rooms, lavish meals, shopping sprees, maybe some had family meet them, same with flying under actual ID, as they wanted their frequent flyer miles

I dont think this was their shining moment, but might very well be used at whatever academy they have, as a how not to do an operation.

I'm sure they were all aware of the risk of traveling outside the US... I recall reading where one involved got stopped down at his summer residence in Panama and got jammed up, but they would not allow him to be extradited

Jesus what a bunch of amateurs. Considering the penalty's for espionage, they couldn't buck up and lock themselves down for the time spent out of country? Or is it that the people they source to do these things are chosen because they are useful idiots?

And yet we spent about 10 b lobbing missiles at Khadaffi to protect Europes, most of all Italys, big oil investments in Libya. Even with 3/4 of Democrats voting against it the Kenyan launched the missiles and planes babbling something about NATO at risk over a dozen Libyans getting mowed down. You see Libya has that "sweet crude" the kind that mad Jed Clampett rich and corporations go ga ga over. Enough to make a bunch of Leftist's running Europe scream that "NATO is under fire" and countries that hadnt fired a shot in 70 years send F-16s in to enfree and do the freedom thing for a bunch of desert savages who wouldnt know freedom if it bit them in the ass. Nor does anyone in Europe give a shit as long as the oil infrastructure they invested so heavily in stays in their control. Which it isnt going to unless they join the caliphate quick.

Oh yeah, the Kenyans Iraq. Nobody much talks about it now but this one stank like 3 week old road kill. Hillary was in on that one as well as Sec of State. And look what were left with... http://www.newsweek.com/watch-rise-isis-libya-445291
