No wonder "Gay" is becoming such an OK thing

The government should not have any rights to your body. What you do with it, provided it brings no harm to others, should be up to you.

You can morally object to something personally without expecting everyone to share that morality.

Kind of like how some lawyer groups didn't like divorce reform.

I can appreciate that viewpoint.  A lot.  On the other hand, due to increasingly socialist policies and programs, we can no longer avoid the consequences of other people's choices.  Obesity, smoking, alcoholism, and even STD treatment costs can be passed on to non-participants through government mandated healthcare policies.

Again, the problem is government. Less is more.

Legalize prostitution, abolish the ACA. Everyone wins.

Or loses, depending on how you look at it

I'd love to abolish the ACA.  My worry is that I keep seeing the worst of both worlds combined:  More government on both ends.

Outlaw sex then.

We get it, you enjoy .gov regulation over an area they have no business.

Health issue? So the people that sleep around for free are somehow less of a risk in your world?

It makes no sense when you look at it like this

Sex for free = legal

Sex for money in front of a camera = porn = legal

Sex for money privately = prostitution = illegal.

Half the world has it.

The other half wants it.

It's OK to give it, barter it, trade it, swap it.

But some puritan decides that it is not OK to buy it, or sell it.

In NZ prostitution was legalized a while ago, 10 + years, IIRC.

According to all I have discussed it with, it is a non event, other than the hookers are a little more upscale now.

It got the skanks off the street corners, because they just could not compete with the 'new' crowd of legal hookers.

And now the .gov is taxing it just like any other business, or employee.

Everybody agrees that it was a positive move.

I will explain it like my mom explained it to me.

Women have half of the money, and all of the pussy.

Legalizing it will shift the balance of power forever.

Sex is a basic human function and is a basic human right much more so than healthcare and having a livable wage.

People should not have to pay for sex. Hookers should be free. Having sex is a basic human right.

Legalize it, set up a single payer sex system.

Sex is a basic human right!

Free hooker sex for everyone!

why is it illegal to sell something that you can legally give away for free?
View Quote

Once you legalize it you are endorsing the spread of diseases and now we have to legislate working conditions, health inspections
safety, working hours, health plans etc
also it is a cash business so we can't collect fair income taxes off the hookers.

its easier to leave it illegal and stop arresting Johns.

I think Prostitution is morally wrong, but at the same time it's the only way some basement dwellers can get laid and not go full ROP on society.

Prostitution should be legal though.  If a man wants to spend his cash and she is willingly selling the pussy then what is the problem.

You put a price on pussy then helslzbergs and Jared start selling less. And non prostitutes will have to bring something other than a good lay to the table to land a long term imbalanced relationship.

Some women use it to get what they want. Now they will have to work for it.

That's why so many women are against it.

I'm a proponent of legalizing prostitution.  A man who prefers his sex on a commercial basis is certainly no loss to me.

By the way, sex-positive feminism has been around since the eighties.

Here is the deal. You can argue libertarian principles if you wish but facts are facts. It's not so much prostitution on its face that is the issue. It is the criminality that surrounds it. Drugs, pimps, murderers, thieves. When ever these things happen, authorities naturally become involved. It's all the fucking time with these people. So to say that prostitution breeds crime is an understatement. That's why street prostitution should be illegal.

Then you have Las Vegas style govt. regulated prostitution, now the mindset becomes, do we really want the government involved and profiting from it?

Legally, you still owe income tax on illegal earnings.  That is what they got Al Capone on, so it isn't even a new thing.
