I liked it as a kid. Haven't seen it in a decade or more so who knows how I'd feel about it watching it now.

Lea Thompson has always been hot.

Honestly I like many movies that are universally seen as "bad" Ishtar , The Postman, Battlefield Earth , anything by Uwe Boll

I'll give you Ishtar, it was panned for much the same reason as Murray's Razor's Edge. Viewers couldn't accept a leading role, stepping so far outside his/their box.
You get no quarter from me on the others mentioned.

I always watched Howard the Duck to see the duck tits. Does that make me some kind of furry? I was just a little kid...

It's a great movie if you don't take yourself seriously.

People who drink tea with their pinky finger extended usually have sticks up their butts and can't appreciate it.

I had an edited fir TV version on a VHS tape that I used to watch as a kid.

I can remember the feeling of something just being off as I watched it, even as a little kid.

I haven't seen it since I lost the tape but I bet the reasons for the movie seeming weird would come into perspective now.

Lea Thompson was so hot in that movie.

Loved it as a kid.

I swear, it's just one of those movies people hate on to be part of the cool crowd that hates on it.

Frank Zappa had a song about why a movie like that was made:  Cocaine Decisions.

I'm sure when everybody involved in the decision making process was coked out of their minds, the idea of making a live action movie out of a weird comic book seemed like a really good idea.  Just look at the results.

I always heard it was terrible, but never watched it until they started playing it a bunch on HBO in the mid-late '90s. I thought it was hilarious in that awkward way that Paul Rudd has perfected.

And I liked the previously mentioned Pluto Nash fine, hell I think Hudson Hawk is hilarious.

It was this bad: I met Tim Robbins after he made the movie.  He said, "Nice to meet you.  I'm sorry about Howard the Duck."  I told him I never saw it, and he said to keep it that way.

Considering it was the first Marvel comic movie we are all lucky they decided to go past that mulligan

However marvel did put out some pretty shitty movies in the 80s-90s  First Punisher , first Fantastic 4  and Nick Fury for example
