Beer % is 3.2 No kegs or party balls Click counters No doubles No happy hour No pitcher to single guest And then some...... What's a click counter? Sounds like a fun drink. There is a theater owner suing Idaho State Police over a similar issue.
Village Cinema is suing the Idaho State Police for threatening to revoke the theater’s liquor license On Feb. 26, two undercover ISP detectives bought VIP tickets to “Fifty Shades.” While seated in the theater, the detectives ordered a Blue Moon beer and Bacardi Rum and Diet Coke from the waitress, who brought the drinks to them.
View Quote Thats right, they sent undercover detectives in to catch this egregious violation. Yes, Idaho has a large mormon population. |

Utah is a funny place... I have spent a lot of time working there. It has about the youngest population in the US owing to all the kids and when you have that many kids you are going have, well, kid stuff. Or youth stuff. It's all Mormon until it's time it's time to do morman stuff and then no one has the time for that. Pick up one of the SLC "free entertainment papers" and it is nothing but hookah/vaping places, escort services, "gentlemens clubs", and so on. Very up front about it. I don't know how they manage to keep up with a level of social schizophrenia that makes Salt Lake City seem like Amsterdam and Tehran at the same time.
The bars do suck if you want a real drink. Like try and get a Martini, properly made. Or any mixed liquor beverage like a Manhattan. It just sucks and is not the same. That being said I don't much care for bars but it is nice to go to your favorite watering hole for a celebration and not spend something like $20 to get a decent mixed drink. All in all, it would have virtually no bearing on whether I wanted to live there or not. The liquor monitoring is just bizarre in this day and age. |

Then everybody I know breaks the law. Never failed get a drink here any time I wanted one. And how does this have anything to do with the law that I was discussing (liquor imports)? As for your "Mormons are so dumb" comment, you're the one who threw that out there - no one else. Facts are facts, and if they hurt your feelings then ignore them, but implying that this isn't the law in Utah, or trying to redirect the discussion by stating that you and your buddies are lawbreakers simply by drinking in the state is disingenuous at best, and a flat-out lie at worst. On the other hand, if you and your buddies are importing liquor across the state line without proper authorization then you are correct: you are criminals in the state of Utah. People get prosecuted for violations of these laws in Utah (and if convicted, you will lose your Utah ccw over it as a crime of moral turpitude), and this thread has made people aware of the law who previously were not. My sincerest apologies if your state's laws offend you, but as I said, they are indeed the law. |

Ryan Reynolds has donated $12k towards the suit filed against the state http://www.sltrib.com/home/3813918-155/ryan-reynolds-tweets-about-brewvies-deadpool The Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control last week cited Salt Lake City's Brewvies Cinema Pub for violating state liquor law by showing nudity and simulated sex in a place that serves booze.
Three undercover agents from the Utah Bureau of Investigation went to Brewvies on Feb. 26, ordered beer and watched the R-rated "Deadpool." The cops cited Brewvies because of scenes of Reynolds and co-star Morena Baccarin having simulated sex while nude, and for a moment of male full-frontal nudity. The officers also noted an image over the closing credits, an animated image of Deadpool riding "on the back of a unicorn, he rubs its horn briefly until the horn shoots out rainbows (simulating orgasm)."
