Can Denzel pull off Yule Brenner?
I see Christian Bale too. I wonder how bad it will suck. Commiewood hasn't been making the grade when it comes to remakes in a while. |
|

From left to right...
DontknowfreeO (sp?) ? ? The white fang kid. Denzel Andy from parks and Rec. Asian guy. I don't think I'll hold my breath. |
|
I'll reserve judgment. I like Denzel, Star Lord, and Pvt Pyle. How does Bunghole Lee fit in though???
Sure wish they'd do the Afghanistan one, Rubicon, though... |
|
What's next? The Great Escape? The Bridge on the River Kwai?
Hollywood just can't leave a good thing alone. |

I would rather see a remake of Seven Samurai. This movie is gonna be so sterilized by a politically correct Hollyweird that they'll all probably be discussing their feelings before braiding each others hair.

Nope, the original. The Magnificent Seven was a blatant rip off, right down to the girl disguising herself as a boy. It was actually damned good for a black and white flick in Japanese. |
|
I'm thinking Denzel is Yul Brenner and Star Lord is Steve McQueen. Ethan Hawke looks twitchy so I'm guessing he's Napoleon Solo. I have no idea who the Chinaman is supposed to be. Unless he's the young Mexican kid and the movie is set in China and the cowboys were shipped in. ETA: Jeez, there was a lot of Chinese labor in the West, so I guess, somehow, there could be a Chinese character but has there EVER been a Chinese cowboy/gunfighter/outlaw (outside some Chinatown)? A black cowboy isn't hard to believe though. I think I read somewhere that at one time blacks made up 20% of the cowboys out west. |

I'm just surprised they didn't throw a female or two in there. I'll give it a watch, has potential

Hollywood is so fucking predictable. |

Probably Ethan hawk. Just a guess as a) he's the only one I recognise and b) he's quite thin. Terrible terrible, idea. Magnificent 7 is defininitely one of the best film ever made. |

I'd watch it... Vincent D'Onofrio and Denzel Washington should make it worth while. I don't think Ethan Hawke is a hack either.

Once again proving that Hollywood is totally out of original ideas.

I think this a pretty good cast.
Denzel, Hawke, Pratt, D'Onofrio, and Lee. Lee is a pretty good action star, but I think an old school Chow Yun Fat gunplay would be bad ass. For those of you frowning on the diversity, give it a rest. A modern retelling of a bunch of misfits who do something heroic should hopefully capitalize on this cast. This isn't a factual documentary of the Old West. |

Are they going to be limiting the rounds per gun to Under 10 rounds or not
|
|
87% sure there were Chinese immigrants and black people around in the 'old west'

I wonder if they'll keep the theme. It won't compare to the original. It's still one of my favorite movies ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iteRKvRKFA View Quote Absolute iconic masterpiece by Elmer Bernstein. ETA: His son goes around giving retrospective concerts on his father's work, they're very entertaining and if your local symphony hosts one, it's worth seeing. |
