i guess the brady campaign bailed on them and left them to rot.

Lonnie Phillips is filing for bankruptcy because he owes $203,000 to the company that sold his stepdaughter’s killer 4,000 rounds of ammunition over the Internet.

A federal judge threw out his lawsuit against Lucky Gunner, and now the Phillips family must pay its legal fees under Colorado law.

Lucky Gunner was shielded from prosecution under a 2005 law that grants gun makers and sellers immunity from prosecution for crimes committed with their products. Bernie Sanders voted for the law while a member of the House, though he’s recently wavered over whether he supports it.

“We don’t have that much money to pay them, and they can take our house,” Phillips told USA TODAY. “Right now we’re living in a trailer traveling and speaking around the country trying to get people to understand how egregious this law is.”

“I don’t think he had any idea of the repercussions this law would cause,” Phillips said of Sanders. “I would like Bernie Sanders to at least apologize to us for the heartache this has caused.”

Sanders is also co-sponsoring a recent bill to repeal parts of the 2005 law. Sanders’ concern has been about small stores that support the hunting community, Weaver said on MSNBC Tuesday night. “He is certainly in favor of making sure anybody who’s a bad actor is punished,” said Weaver.

It would seem I'm all out fucks right now. Maybe if that guy tries back a little later I might have some then. Though, I wouldn't count on it. On second thought, he shouldn't try later. Because I still won't have any fucks to give.

I hope Lucky Gunner takes his home and turns it into a target.

That's EXACTLY what happened.

The Brady Bunch found a family that was hurting and emotionally vulnerable, exploited them, turned them into victims, and are now using their victim status to exclaim how it's all the NRA's fault.

You know, just like they always do.

They royally fucked that family, completely on purpose knowing full well exactly what would happen, so they could play-act at being indignant over their supposed treatment at the hands of the evil gun lobby.

It's disgusting.  Frankly, it's downright evil.  Fuck those asshole gun grabbers.

Sorry about the guys kid, no one should have to go though that pain. But he let himself get used by Brady and the anti gunners and now he is screwed.

If fellow antis like this poor guy cannot trust them how can we EVER trust them with any kind of compromise they always push?

NO MORE, NOT EVEN AN INCH.

It served their interest to lose.

Had they put Lucky Gunner out of business, big deal in the grand scheme of things. Instead they have a family to perpetuate the victimhood that can continue to cast the NRA and gun owners as heartless assholes.

LG didn't do anything wrong, legally or morally.
Neither did the ammunition manufacturer.
Neither did anybody else involved, except the murderer.

Oh, and the Brady Bunch, who carpetbagged their way into a suffering and emotionally vulnerable family and used them for publicity, knowing exactly what would happen in the courts, and then bailed on them when it was time to pay the piper.

The Brady Bunch are abusive, deadbeat fucking quislings that can't even be trusted by the people they claim to represent.

Even this article...  it's fucking shameful.  It leads with this supposed sob story about a victimized family (which is TRUE, except they misattribute the antagonist here), and then they just play it into a political hit piece to support the establishment candidate.

IDGAF about Bernie, but that doesn't mean I can't see what's going on.

These fucking people are using and abusing their constituency.  It's the very definition of corrupt politics and tyranny.  Fuck them and everyone like them.

I'm sorry for their loss.  No one should ever, ever have to go thru that. That said; you dont sue auto manufactures when you get smashed by a veh intentionally.  You dont go after Easton when someone hits you with their bat.  You dont sue ammo/gun makers, sellers, etc.

No, The current s owner's will likely declare bankruptcy and seek shelter from the same justice system that they frivolously abused.

For anyone to think that you should blame the lawful seller of a legal product for the unlawful actions of a murderer should be put out on the street.

This is akin to suing a car dealer or gasoline station for the actions of a hit and run driver.

Just proxies for the Clinton machine. Hillary and her camp thought she'd have the nomination wrapped up by now so she could pivot to Trump to whip up her base for turnout. Suddenly a geriatric socialist is raising more money than her and cleaning her clock in primaries. She doesn't want to have to keep running to the left to defeat Sanders and they want to go back to the Clinton crony capitalist big donors. They know this bullshit will play well in NY.

One of the six, steel-jacketed bullets that killed her slammed through a theater seat, entered her left eye and left a five-inch hole in her face as it blew her brains out on to the theater floor. The other five specially designed bullets tumbled when they tore through her flesh and did devastating damage to both legs, arms and intestines.

"specially designed bullets" ?  What, like other bullets aren't special? This is so typical of anti-gunners, using rhetoric that is false/meaningless to try and elicit an emotional reaction.

A law may say something is illegal but you still need to prove to the judge that you are covered/protected by that law, and that gets expensive when the other side is using grieving parents of slaughtered children to push a political agenda.

Fuck the Brady Campaign, and fuck their lawyers, for putting the families of the victims through more trauma with this frivolous lawsuit.

The Brady Campaign is pushing these lawsuits, there are many, with the specific goal of getting the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act nullified, and opening a floodgate of lawsuits against manufacturers, distributors, dealers, and all other venues where guns and accessories are sold.

They tried to enrich themselves over a tragedy.

We absolutely need to combat this notion that is being pushed that firearms and ammunition are any different than any other inanimate objects that may be used in a crime.

It would never cross someone's mind to sue the dealership that sold someone the car used in a hit and run.
