I Bought my wife a card thinking that would be enough but when I came home from work yesterday she had a French press for me. So I decided I am going to make Alton Brown's garlic mashed and a ribeye for her when she gets home from a funeral.

40 years this August for us.  Just cards.  Between Christmas, her birthday on February 10 and Valentine's Day on February 14th it could get pretty damaging to the wallet.  A few years ago I spent something like $1,400 on her Christmas present.  So the card said Merry/Happy ChrisBirthVal Day on it.

Married 31 years and together for 35. We went out Friday night to a nice dinner and bottle of wine. We went to the local gun store Saturday and then met the son. We spent the day with him and his SO helping plan their wedding. We all went out to supper and a movie.

Best of both worlds, one night with the wife and the next with family.

Coming up on 30, ny strip steak cooked like she likes it.  Feed sweet tooth for the past three days.  She doesn't care for cut flowers, depending on variety she's alergic to them.

Plan a weekend away at a later date.

I like the guys who say "abso-nothing!"  but just went out for a nice dinner.  SO, going out on one of the most annoying/expensive/busy/annoying  nights of the year for a dinner for two is your way of showing you dont care about a halmark holiday?  Lulz rip the system!

I just stretched two mismatched star wars kids socks over my giant feet. Looks and feels like panty hose, thank god for modern fabircs.  I could have complained about the lack of socks but didnt.

Four years here.  She's a smart lady and we both think Valentine's Day is commercial bullshit.  We had some athletic sex this morning, then I hit the gym and wrapped some bacon around some marinated venison backstraps.  She's not a hooker, son.  You don't have to empty your bank account every time the television tells you to.

Man, you are in love!

Yesterday I sent her out all day and told her to buy some clothes that make her feel pretty.  Then I got a fashion show when she came home.
She's turning 40 this year and she's feeling self-conscious.  The last time she bought anything really "for herself" was years ago.  She needed a permission slip to go do something for just herself.

She still came home with stuff for the kids, not a lot, but she's not very centered on herself.

Let me be perfectly clear:
My wife's not a supermodel, she has some extra weight around the middle and some grey hairs and she's as plain as the day is long.  But the sun rises and sets in my world with that woman.

She got a new desk top computer a few months ago, and has been wanting some speakers.

So, I got her some 200w Klipsch Dolby surround sound speakers.

And chocolate, of course. Because women love that shit. Lol

And a mushy card that was all full of feels.

Our offical date was this last Friday night. Sitter watched kids so we could go get a steak. I got my wife a new hammock, a bunch of flowers that she's already planted, a bottle of her favorite wine, and the gift she asked for was to have the front fence painted (done!). I'm also ordering her new window coverings for the kitchen today. I spent the morning with the kids making her breakfast and cards. We'll take it easy and not do too much. There is some leftover turkey soup that is sooooo goooood in the fridge for dinner.

Married 13 years.

35yrs....

She just came down stair and gave me something I've wanted for 4 years.  She sewed a zipper in my favorite gun case!  The case has been hanging in the gun closet for years with a new heavy duty zipper & I've asked for it to be sewn in for Christmas for the past 4 years...each Christmas...nada.  But this morning I have the venerable Allen case with heavy shoulder strap back in service.
