Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) released a statement Saturday night following the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia that contained a warning shot to Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY): Don't play politics with filling vacancies on the Supreme Court bench. "It would be unprecedented in recent history for the Supreme Court to go a year with a vacant seat," the statement read. "Failing to fill this vacancy would be a shameful abdication of one of the Senate's most essential Constitutional responsibilities." http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/harry-reid-dont-block-scalia-successor?utm_content=buffer3a04a&utm_medium=social& utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer Correct me if I'm wrong .... but didn't one Republican candidate donate to this cocksucker's campaign? Yeah....... No way. No way in hell one of our guys could do something like that. Who the hell did? We should hang whoever it is as a fucking traitor to the United States. |

Yes the name Bork should come up many times and be used as prior precedent. |

I don't trust the Republicans. I don't remember when I've ever felt that they held the Constitution close to their hearts. I really feel sick to my stomach. We're all on our way to being controlled and subjugated from cradle to grave, because leftist tyrants appeal to half our population, and house slaves to the tyrants are elected by the other half.
I'm an optimist in 99 percent of my life. So pardon me if I've been beaten down with this 1 percent. I hope that I'm wrong. |

Obama will appoint the youngest, most radical leftist he can find.
One that has a "something". Openly gay, transgender, disabled, etc. The dems will use every procedural trick they can come up with to speed the appointment through and will bring up the "something" every time a Republican voices any dissent. In the end, they will cave and Zero will get his person seated. In the end, he will get this seat and will probably get another pick before his term is out. I suspect Ginsberg will pack it in before he is out of office. The dems don't see their chances at getting the WH as being all that great nor do they think they will get a shot at taking congress back. They have to "own" one part of the government, they will get SCOTUS. |
|
I knew this was coming. Are the Dems going to try and fill that position with a socialist, BLM activists/black panther, or an islamic extremist? It's going to be one of the three.

I dont know about yall, but that just filled me with rage. Not rage that our rights could be stripped from us. Not rage that a lib could be appointed to the SC. Fucking RAGE that it has gotten this far, that our rights have been hanging by a thread. A thread and the fact that liberty has been hanging by a thread for fucking decades and no one stepped up to change it. There has never been a time for freedom's supporters to remain silent, yet we have been sitting here, mouths shut, simply out of fear of political correctness. If I sound angry, yes, I am. I have come to the realization that my freedom was lost long before I came around, and that I have been living in the shadow of freedom, not its light. View Quote Your words are clearly spoken from the heart. I came to the realization you are wrestling with long ago, but I hope and pray all Americans are in the same mode you are tonight. |

I guess he just needs to nominate the most right wing fundamental Christian constitutionalist he can find then.... I won't hold my breath.
I'm guessing a Muslim that strongly advocates sharia law... Or Hillary. |

News flash Harry.. You are not in charge. Your party is not in charge. Put forth a staunch and brilliant constitutionalist and we will talk

My guess is that Scalia didn't die naturally. Wanted to be the first to start that rumor.

Now all of a sudden Harry Reid wants to adhere to the Constitution when it is convenient to do so.

Over and under on McConnell rolling over and showing the Dems their bellies on this issue.

Republicans have no balls. In the end, they'll roll over and submit to whoever Obama nominates.

Now all of a sudden Harry Reid wants to adhere to the Constitution when it is convenient to do so. The Senate has every right to decline to confirm any nominee. That is adhering to the Constitution. Exactly. My paranoid side is telling me this is getting the rhetoric out there to pull another "Congress has failed to act, so I issued an executive order." Same issue... and yet, the President got away with effectively creating legislation without Congress. That one SHOULD have resulted in a Constitutional crisis. Except there was no one on the other side willing to fight him on it. I wonder if he would try to put someone on the Supreme Court without the Senate? At this point? I wouldn't put it past him to try. |

If the Republicans rolled over in the face of something like that .... well we'd have demonstrated that we no longer deserve to live in a free country. |
