Why can't you believe it?  

At least Trump acknowledge all his loans.  Unlike Cruz who tried to hide it.  

I'm not a fan of Trump.  Let me get that out of the way.

But do you guys think you might spend a little more of this effort supporting Cruz, or maybe attacking Hillary and Comrade Sanders?

I get that you hate Trump.   But do you think in this political environment, with the discontent that the guy is tapping into, that you're going to change any of the Trump supporters' minds?  That's a serious question.   Do you think that segment of the GOP voters who are supporting Trump is completely unaware that he has a sketchy background and questionable conservative credentials?

And, by the way, keep in mind that those voters have some precedent to hang their hats on.  When ROMNEY had that same sketchy background and question marks about his conservative credentials (e.g., a history of pro-choice, pro-gun control, big healthcare, etc. actions and statements), those very same voters were told it was OK to hold their noses and pull the lever, and indeed that they MUST do so because this guy was the "only hope" to beat jug ears.   Now those voters seem to think Trump is the guy who has the chance to win.   And one can hardly fault them for looking to the Romney situation and saying:  "If it was OK for you guys to tell us to say 'fuck it' about your guy's conservative credo, then we'll just say 'fuck you' in terms of our guy's conservative credo."

Now, add to the fact that the GOP guys who DID have the right history of saying and supporting the right GOP ideas have almost completely folded themselves into the establishment (e.g., Rubio going balls-deep for amnesty, and Ryan fucking us on the budget).  Given that, those Trump supporting voters might be even less likely to worry so much about the guy's articulated policy foibles and decide they just want to back someone who will actuall trade punches with the other side without the pussy cuckold attitude of so many of the GOP folks in office.  

The GOP is reaping what it has sowed, in other words.   I spend my time trying to get these voters to see that Cruz has more to offer.   They already know to some extent or other that Trump is sort of a clown.  You telling them that isn't going to move minds.  

One of the real problems here is that by spending so much time taking Trump seriously you are elevating him in stature above where you think he ought to be.   Cruz was sort of clever in taking the "dismissive" (kids stuff) almost eye-roll approach in his latest advert.   That's what I try to do.    

Just some food for thought.  

Unfortunately Trump will be the GOP nominee, and there's little that anyone in the GOP Establishment can do about it now.



This thing has gotten beyond our control, and we'll be lucky to live through it....
