A 33-year-old gun enthusiast in Queens was busted for keeping a small arsenal of weapons — and a couple hundred pounds of gunpowder — after neighbors alerted cops that he was receiving large deliveries of firearms, police said Tuesday. Guo Shou, 33, was arrested in Flushing Monday evening after cops responded to calls from neighbors and found illegal items that included 30,000 rounds of ammo and 225 pounds of gunpowder in plastic containers, police said Shou, who lives at 6560 Weatherole St., had three high-power magazines of ammo, an AR-10 and an AR-15 rifle. The guns are legal and he is a licensed gun owner, but the ammo exceeded the limit of what’s legal. Police also confiscated computers and a cell phone as part of their investigation. Shou has no criminal history, police said Link |

High power magazines of ammo?
Stupid fucking "journalist" cunts. |
I didn't know this but you can only have so many rounds before it's illegal? So, what's the threshold?
I know you can only have a certain amount of gun powder (I believe 40#) before you have to have it stored in special containers. Never heard of an ammo limit though.

How the fuck is it illegal to have too much ammo?
It should be illegal NOT having enough ammo, defined as at a minimum of 1,000 per caliber of gun owned, I know somebody would ask anyway. |
They won't let us take their guns, so let's just take their ammo. Maybe he can hire Aimless to defend him.

I think they mean the large amount of powder, not ammo. I think after a certain amount you have to store it in a magazine.
Edit: beat. |
So charged with too much ammo..but why seize the laptop and phone? what did they have to do with ammo? My guess, all sorts of illegal stuff will be "found" on them.............
Thank God I don't have neighbors.
And to second everyone else's question, WTH is the "legal" limit of ammo? |
The state of "journalism" in this country is incredible. God forbid they actually say what he is actually charged with. The reporter probably wanted his readers to actually think storing any more than one box of ammo is illegal. |

With only 225 lbs of powder and only 30K rounds, he is a mere amateur gun nut.

First, I thought it was called Flu-Shing now. It's the first news story that I've seen that mentioned a SMALL arsenal. Unless it's all .22LR in which case he could buy and sell Trump. |

How much you wana bet it was 3k rounds and probally 20lbs of powder?
Or he reloaded most of that ammo |

There is a private company that sells publications called "National Fire Code" or "National Building Code" to municipalities so their lawyer doesn't have to make up the law from whole cloth. What matters is what has actually passed into law in the jurisdiction in question. You could draft the "Unknownhavoc Fire Code of 2016", copyright it, and it would have exactly as much legal force as the NFPA. Link |

It's always high-powered guns or ammo. As far as I know mine are all regular-powered. I want the high-powered catalog!

I might believe that it was a fire code violation for the gunpowder. But, ammo?
Anyway.....can you imagine being "ratted out" by your neighbors? Maybe, it was a "racial thing?" Aloha, Mark |

Thank God! He could have killed 30,000 people, picked up all the brass, gone home, reloaded another 30,000 rounds with all that powder, then shot another 30,000 people.

Just looked it up, apparently it is a FDNY code that limits the amount of ammo you can store in your residence to 200 rounds!
