I was very impressed with her vocal last night and thought she looked pretty good. Having only seen her in egg costumes, etc., didn't know what to expect.

Probably. I think the concern was that she was either a fairly normal person, with no particular talent, who made bank by acting crazy. Or, that she was a crazy person with no real talent who made bank by being crazy.

Glad to see that she really does have talent.

As party of the audio 'team' that was doing the pre-game and halftime shows, we got to hear it several times a few days earlier. Until then, I never knew that's what they did to avoid mistakes at the SB.

It didn't matter when she performed it though - the energy and patriotism in the stadium was hair raising.

She was on SNL a few years ago when Poker Face was her single. She did a live acoustic variation of it while playing the piano, talking to the audience and wearing an insane costume. She convinced me at that moment that she could actually write a song and sing it. Unlike 90% of the pop stars out there.
