She was pretty damn good today- minus the few bars of ghetto she just had to add to it.

When she is singing jaz, all bets are off.

MY National Anthem? R.E.S.P.E.C.T.   Save the ghetto riffs for other shit.

Lady Gaga has been inconsistently breaking out of the Radical Leftist box that the Pop Music industry generally keeps people in... It makes more interested in seeing where she goes.

That kicked off the shitty, obnoxious trend of "look at me!" oversinging.

Worst. Anthem. Ever.

Her looks not withstanding, that was a nice rendition.  A tad too much flair in it IMO, but I realize she has to keep the energy up for the audience. For most of the players in the super bowl listening to the NA I suspect they are realizing that their life is just about to peak. Thats how I interpret it anyway. It must be quite a feeling.

Thought the first half was good and then at the end she started to funk it up. Overall  decent.

That's what we musicians call "slap back", it is extremely difficult to perform in stadiums if you don't have in ears as there is always a 1/2 second delay from singing/music to loudspeakers/tv.

My band did an acoustic performance at a Atlanta Braves game, most stressful 2:30min of my life as we didn't have our "in ear" systems.... All i could think was..."stay on count stay on count don't listen to shit" lol.

But any who, lady gaga is VERY talented, before she blew up she wrote & produced for a lot of female artists.

You guys are nuts.  She was terrible.

Just another "interpretation" of the National Anthem.  It's a disgrace adding to it and changing it around like that.

Seriously terrible.

Her stuff was relatively mild compared to others.

Lady Gaga is such a freak I expected the worst when I heard that she would be singing the anthem. This performance was surprisingly normal.

I disagree , why did she have to show off her "range" halfway thru the song , how about just sing it the way its supposed to be sung , save the artsy shit for the gallery

No pop stars, no vocal show offs, just the Star Spangled Banner, the cadets, and the US Army Herald Trumpet Corps.

I might have to look for that.

A brief glimpse of that, I'm sure, would be their Christmas ad for Barnes & Noble.
