Electronic communications are fundamentally different in that making copies is almost the way it works. An email isn't sent from one person to another. It is copied, first to the sender's mail server, then the recipient's mail server, then the recipient's computer. That's at a minimum. I doubt she really understand that, or she would have never set up such a half assed system to begin with. She MAY not get charged, but it's CERTAINLY a possibility. There is a VERY distinct possibility that the FBI will recommend charges. They have uncovered more than enough evidence to put her away for a long, long time and the FBI director himself is a Republican (and Bush's former Deputy AG) with a history of prosecuting famous defendants (like Martha Stewart). So even just speaking from a purely cynical perspective, Director Comey has nothing to lose and everything to gain by recommending charges, even if there WASN'T any real evidence. The Republicans would be able to reward him with a nice sinecure position at some Republican friendly bank or think tank with a 7 figure salary even if the Democrats win the White House, and they could appoint him Attorney General if a Republican becomes the next President. |

Pretty sure I read somewhere early on that the guys hosting her server realized she was telling them to commit a crime by deleting everything and they decided not to follow her instructions.
