When Doug's body rejected the material, text book symptoms of rejection, he discounted Doug's claims and blew him off. When Doug went into renal failure the doctor cleaned his books and denied any and all conversations or implications in the matter. That put Doug at the will of the local medical system that wants to have NOTHING to do with the material that was implanted in Doug. Including doing anything to save his life! No, the surgery was not botched. The doctor was playing god and fixed Doug up "good" for the rest of his life. The doctor will never own up to this and the system will do everything in it's power to protect him and vilify Doug. This burns me big time! |

I know at least three dudes who have had a mesh install in the last say five to six years. They seem to not have any issues but after all this bs that Doug is going through I (they) wonder what their options are as far as leaving it there, having it removed, etc...

***update #10**
Received a text from Doug about a hour ago. he is still in Miami but as he put it.."I have finally turned the corner on this battle for my life and it's looking like I will be able to return home by the end of this week." I told him some of our florida members were asking which hospital he is in so they could stop by. I will let you know when I find out. View Quote Sounds like things are looking up! Prayers will continue. |

Glad to hear it's getting better.
Was worried that the lack of updates meant bad news. |

So shouldn't we be funding a law suit? to prepare the lawsuit..just prepare it, you are talking millions of dollars...which is why no law firm as done that yet. there are many law suits that have been filed for women that have been affected by this inferior mesh product..but none for men. the way Doug explained it..law firms are waiting for those law suits to make their way through the court system to see what the out come will be. he has been in regular contact with an advocacy group based out of Florida that has helped him greatly. |

Thanks for keeping this thread so detailed. Just found out a coworker might have a similar problem. Hernia surgery roughly 5 years ago, has had lasting pain ever since. He's going to a different hospital soon to see what the issue might be, I told him about Doug's case and said to make sure they check for problems with the mesh.

Talked with my friend yesterday-doctors at the second hospital did an MRI and couldn't tell him anything about why he's still having pain issues. Legitimate "I don't know" or a "cover our asses while we can" conspiracy? It's pretty well documented this shit causes problems inside women, common sense says it's bad inside men too. |
