Wow, you kinda woke me up. I had a hernia repair back in '06 and they have been telling me that I'm part of the recall. I've been dismissing it as ambulance chasers trying to get money. Never really thought twice about it. May be time to actually look into it a little deeper

I finally managed to get in touch with Doug last night. We suck at telephone tag..
 He is doing good...he had another piece of the mesh break off and caused another blockage in his intestines...one of the worst yet. He is on the mend from that though. He has talked to the surgeon in Vegas that will perform the operation..and it's a go as soon as Doug is able. The hold up right now is the post operative care. He will need to stay at the Valley Hospital Medical Center for a minimum of 2 weeks at $1800 a day..  He has been waiting for a small insurance settlement from a motor vehicle accident he was in a few years ago...then the State decided they wanted that money...Doug explained why..and it was a bullshit reason. He through a lawyer has been fighting this for quite a while hoping to get the money. to make a long story short..he had to give the State pretty much a 1/3 of it to get them off his back. Our job here is not quite done yet...and it took me a lot of convincing to get Doug to give me the okay to post this. He is an extremely humble man who if not for the generosity of you folks..would most likely be dead right now and for that he is forever grateful..butt like I told him..Arfcommers don't go half way.. I have a couple of things I'm going to check into that will help us go the distance..in the mean time..if you folks can keep doing what you are doing..that would be amazing. George |

Just got off the phone with Doug.
He is having a rough go. He has an infection in his bones that he is on strong antibiotics for. However until he gets the mesh removed it isn't going to go away. He was talking to the surgeon that will perform the operation and based on all he info he has..he is confident that Doug won't have to stay in the hospital post surgery longer than 2 weeks. This is the hold up right now.. gathering together the money to cover the hospital stay.. It's $1800 a day.
I am working on a couple of things and if they pan out I will let you know. Please keep Doug in your thoughts and prayers and any and all donations as always are very much appreciated..more than you folks know. |

Just saw an ad on Fox News from a law firm talking about people having the mesh surgery between 2010 and 2016. Described the symptoms of this case (pain, mesh migration, additional surgery, etc...). The certain brand (physiomesh) was withdrawn for these reasons.
Is the OP part of a law suit yet? |

It would be interesting to see if male victims are included. So far all of these "law suits " are for women only. The medical world is insisting on keeping it's head in the sand and saying this is a woman only problem.

sorry for the delay with updates. As per normal..Doug and I are playing telephone tag..between me working shift work and him busy with appointments and resting it's difficult to find a mutual time that works.

Well Doug and I suck at connecting via the phone.
However..I got a text from him about an hour ago. He is on his way to Vegas. Surgery is scheduled for thursday. 
We are going to try and talk via the phone tomorrow.. |
