Don't laugh,  but in Pixar's "UP" .  The montage about the couple's life that ends with the wife dying. No dialogue at all, just pictures. It's amazing how much that cartoon tore people up.

I think I went through an entire box of Kleenex watching that movie. I don't think I've cried that hard since I was a child. It's getting dusty in here just thinking about it.

There is a scene as the ship is going down when in one of the lower class cabin a mother tucks her children in knowing they are going to die and begins telling them about their heritage and singing them a traditional lullabye that is a tough one.

That scene was like Opum in SPR for me.  Tough for me to handle that lady's decision to not even give herself or her kids the chance.

Now, the old couple that laid on the bed holding each other...they knew...and they made the choice themselves.

You guys have mentioned some great ones.......  These are two more that come to mind.

Movie:  Brian's Song.....  After Gayle Sayers he is awarded the "George S. Halas Most Courageous Player Award," Sayers dedicates his speech to Piccolo.   Sayers told the crowd that they had selected the wrong person for the award and said, "I love Brian Piccolo, and I'd like all of you to love him, too. Tonight, when you hit your knees to pray, please ask God to love him, too."

Show:  Six Feet Under.....   The very last couple minutes of the show as the balance of Carrie's life, and the life of her family is played out in vignettes - culminating in her death as an old woman - all shown to the song "Breath Me" by Sia.

That said, I find it gets dusty during many old war movies (and new ones too) I watch, nowadays.

Does something happen to us after we turn fifty, or something?!? WTF?
