Dear’s cabin, which lacks both running water and electricity and is decorated with a cross made out of twigs, is a half-mile up a curvy dirt road about 15 miles west of Asheville. He split his time between the remote shack and a home in Swannanoa, N.C., his neighbors said. t's not clear how long the North Carolina native had been in the Colorado area. The Friday shooting began shortly before noon. For hours, police had no communication with the gunman other than intermittent gunfire. As the standoff progressed, officers inside the building herded people into one area and evacuated others. Police finally had voice contact with the hidden shooter by shouting, and they persuaded him to put down his gun and come out. By the time the shooter surrendered, three people were killed — including University of Colorado Officer Garrett Swasey — and nine others were wounded, authorities said. Planned Parenthood said all of its staff members at the clinic were safe. The organization said it did not know the circumstances or motives behind the attack or whether the organization was the target. After Dear was taken into custody, police turned their attention to inspecting the “items” the shooter left inside the clinic, officials said. You can't write fiction like this. The conventional wisdom/wish casting was that he's a hard-right, prominent pro-life republican who listens to Rush Limbaugh and is prominent in every right-wing arena of life..... that it was a Paris style assault on PP to inflict massive casualties. But then.... it turns out that he's a nutty loner, not affiliated with anyone, and if he has any "links" it's to the hippy culture. Toxicology will be important. Was he yet another guy off his meds? Was he under therapy or counseling? Likely yet another case of somehow who was 'failed' by the State (because you know that's the meme if he was religious - it's all the church's fault if the shoe's on the other foot). Suppose he began to think of himself as a female. We must INSIST on call xim, "her" on penalty of personal destruction, right? So it's a white woman now? How does that get spun? We can't trust white women with firearms? Because it's not going to be spun that men calling themselves women are mentally ill. Or is the fault his "off grid" lifestyle? How did he get from NC to CO? What attracted him to the state? Perhaps its drug laws? This is going to be fascinating to see how the various tribes react and who gets pinned for "guilt by association" by this one. |

At the end of the day, just like Hillary said, "WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE." The only side that will effectively use this to push their agenda is the far left, in there attempt to push for more gun control, and bolster their "progressive" views on social issues like birth control, abortion, gender identity, etc.

Possible Theory: Shooter targeted PP because they were intolerant and refused to perform an abortion on him despite him telling them he identified as a woman. <Heads explode in News rooms.> Is this serious? I have heard he was robbing a bank... No, it's not serious. So far they haven't released a real motive and even when they do, it'll probably be spun to make conservative folks look as bad as possible. There is some debate (and what looks to be reasonable evidence) as to whether this was a bank robbery gone bad or if his original intent all along was to target PP. Seems to me if his original and sole target was PP, there would surely be more wounded or dead there at the PP location. I dunno, something just doesn't add up... |

According to court records, Dear has an arrest record in both North and South Carolina. He has been convicted of several traffic offenses, but has been arrested several times on more serious charges.
His convictions include seat belt violations, driver’s license violations, operating a vehicle in an unsafe mechanical condition and driving a non-registered vehicle. I know it's a pull from a single charge, but perhaps a sovereign?
