In the mood to buy a sling for my rifle, I have AR's, shotguns, bolt guns, lever actions and semi auto 10/22's
No particular need for any one gun, just curious what folks are using out there for some inspiration. I currently have Vtacs on my AR's, but that's about it. |

What's the best single point? Can never seem to get a strait answer.

I still like the USGI surplus canvas sling. Cheap and effective.

I'm using VTAC padded, VCAS, and Ares Armor padded 2-point, all of them are quick adjust 2-point slings.

As for 2 points, Vtac is good, but I prefer Vickers BFG adjustable 2-points. Padded if they're on something heavier than a 14.5/16 or .308. |

Magpul ms4 on my carbines, armageddongear precision rifle slings on my bolt guns and lr308

VCAS non padded is my go to sling I have on most of my rifles.

MS3 on my 20" AR, though I just got an MS4 for a future carbine build.

VTAC padded is what I have on my go to rifles. I also have two Magpul slings...hate the gen 1, but gen 2 is a big improvement.

|
I have a Vtac on one AR and the old leather USGI on my Match AR and my M1.
I won an Irene sling that I'm still trying to figure out. |

I have a couple T.I.S. QuickCuffs and like them. Not great for carrying due to lack of padding but great for support.

Are you going to be operating operationally in an operative environment?
YES - Vtac or Vickers. NO - lenght of para cord. |

|
Vtac slings are pretty slick and all but that damn metal adjuster thingy is loud, painful and has the chance of taking out a lense. I use a blue force gear padded now and am much happier.

It's meant for an AK obviously but could easily be repurposed for an AR. |

What, no love for the Israyet specops para cord sling and silencer thingies ??

|
im happy w/ my ms3. probably gng to buy an ms4 for another rifle soon

Ive got both a VTAC and a Magpul and I pretty much exclusively use my Magpul. I guess I don't understand how to use the VTAC??? I'll have to watch some videos to figure out how to properly adjust it or something, its just never felt comfortable. A sling should not be complicated.... but I guess I could just be dumb

Urban E.R.T. Slings
LaRue Tactical I have a single point Urban ERT and a 2 point LaRue, and they're both great. |

Another vote for VTAC.
Marine Corps is going to Vickers 2-point but it's just a cheaper version of the VTAC IMO. 2-point is the way to go. Unless you're doing nothing but close in work (and when can you say that with absolute certainty?) the stability you get from something attached forward of your receiver is infinitely better than something attached exclusively on or behind it. Even in close you can shoot nice small groups very quickly with relatively limited practice time if you're employing a two point properly for stability. Last shoothouse I got to play in we were a hair away from kicking out the single-point sling gear queer (NCO no less) for the day because his shooting sucked, while even new guys with two-points shot nice tight hammer pairs. |
