So I searched google and I searched this site and did not find a thread about this. If it is a repost I apologize.

as "The old FBI definition of Mass Murder (not even the most recent one) is four or more people murdered in one event. It is only logical that a Mass Shooting is four or more people shot in one event."

I found it hard to believe, so I followed the link to the site shootingtracker.com. Here is the list of the shootings. http://shootingtracker.com/wiki/Mass_Shootings_in_2015

If you scroll down to the bottom of the list they have the source of their "Mass Shootings" which are links to news articles. I started reading them from the top what I found after reading the first few was a pattern.

I am posting this as 294 news articles are a lot to read through by myself. But I think we should go through the list and see how well we can discredit this site. CNN, MSNBC and other MSM sites are using this as a legitimate reference and we will probably see this referenced again with the 2A attack that is coming. I believe, but have not yet confirmed, that these so called "Mass Shootings" are shootings by criminals who are illegally in possession of guns and that simple fact further strengthens our argument towards protecting our 2A right to protect ourselves.

1. They're including people wounded in their stats - not just those killed.
2. There is no mention of their condition or how wounded they were - were they shot or did they get a sprained ankle while running out the door? One source I actually bothered to read reported an injury from "broken glass", not being shot.
3. All their stats are based upon news stories, not official reports and known to be less than 100% correct in their reporting of such incidents.

Incident 1: Blacks shooting blacks in Memphis on a party bus - possibly gang related, or just "don't be diss'n me holmes"

Incident 2: Blacks shooting blacks at Allen Apts in Savannah, GA - Drive by from all accounts

Incident 3: Blacks shooting blacks in Dallas TX - no more info

All 3 provide zero evidence of suspects or victims race or appearance. However further investigation shows all are in black neighborhoods, with Google street confirming many urban yuts walking the street in crime locations.

None of these fit what is commonly referred to as a mass shooting.

We ignore it at our own peril. As long as MSM continues to cite the "Mass Shooting #" then trying to discredit them for a couple of articles from 2013 and 2014 isn't enough.

When they say we need to ban "assault" rifles.

Show them their "facts".

I Gaurunfuckingtee, a majority of their "mass shootings" involve a pistol.

Those statistics are fucked.

More importantly. There could be 1 million mass shootings a year, and I still wouldn't give a fuck/ give up my guns.

Look closer at their sources. A lot of the "wounded" they use to puff up their numbers are nothing more than band-aid worthy scrapes from things other than gunfire.

Wounded is FAR to vague a statistic to use.

Grazed and needed a band-aid? Wounded.

Had a heart attack? Wounded.

Three blocks away, heard shooting, twisted your ankle as you ran away? Wounded.

Admitted to hospital really needs to be the minimum standard to count it that way.

Further, news reports are often preliminary and inaccurate. Bad data source, counted poorly.

I saw this mentioned in the WP comment section.

I looked at the table purporting to show that there have been 274 mass shootings in 2015.

I, quite obviously do not have the time to verify all of the data, but from what I can see, some of the data in the table is questionable, if not outright misleading.

No. 111 - Arlington, Virgina - 5/19/2015 - 1 dead, three injured. The police responded to a domestic disturbance; a mentally ill man had attacked his mother, who was injured. When the police responded, he attacked them with a metal pole. Two police officers were hurt: one accidentally tasered the other; after receiving a serious facial wound, the second officer shot and killed the attacker. The only firearms were in the hands of the police, only one person was shot. I don't understand how anyone could classify this event as a "mass shooting."

No. 108 - Waco, Texas 5/17/2015 -- This event arose from a confrontation between two "biker gangs" (or "motorcycle clubs" -- take your pick) in the parking lot of a restaurant. One hundred seventy-seven people were arrested and detained for a considerable period of time. Some handguns were apparently fired after a fistfight got out of control. The parking lot was surrounded by Waco PD's SWAT team, which at one point fired into the parking lot. The medical examiner has released autopsy result on the fatalities, but has not released information on any of the fatal bullets; based upon reported wound position, some observers have suggested that it is possible that at least some of the fatalities or wounds were caused by police shooters. So, it appears that the classification of this incident as a "mass shooting," of the same type as the event in Oregon, may be questionable.
