OK, I must be a old fart, never heard of whip nae nae, but it's pretty funny.

Whip /  Nae Nae

A Pee Wee football team in Massachusetts was scrimmaging  during halftime of a varsity game this past weekend but got a bit distracted by the music playing over the PA system.

Several of the players, from both sides, began to “Whip/Nae Nae” while they were supposed to be blocking and tackling. Too bad it wasn’t a dance off.

Brilliant play calling by the OC. Have your skill position player whip/nae nae until the defense begins to do it also... Then snap the ball. Note that the center and QB arent whipping and nae naeing.

I expect to see this in the NFL in a few years.

Go to a little league game and watch how many kids chase butterflies and play with dirt when they're on defense.

Clearly you've never tried to coach a group of 5yo kids.

It's just pee wee football - not a talent scout camp.  I know many parents live their unfulfilled dream of being a pro athlete by proxy through their kid, somehow believing that despite a lack of talent, their kid is destined for the NFL if he works hard enough and believes enough.  I cut pee wee football parents some slack though.  No one is as bad as hockey parents.

When I was 6 or 7 (so like an eon ago) and played soccer there as a little girl on our team who would spend the entire game picking daisies. As a parent myself I remember 5-6 years ago when my son (now 11) was in t-ball and it was a hoot watching the kids run bases backwards, make piles of dirt as a ball went by, or my favorite was when a kid actually hit the ball into the outfield every single player on defense would leave their base and chase after it.

That shit's not ghetto, it's freaking everywhere... From the whitest of the white cul-de-sac kids, to the barrio, to the ghetto, to Asian neighborhoods.  When I was in Puerto Rico, kids would drop whatever the hell they were doing and dance every time that song was on. I think it's funny as hell.

Near as I can tell there's no "fuck da police", "bitches and hos", "bust a cap", or "move dat dope" in it at all. Totally harmless.

I'm coaching pee wee football now.  Kids have about a 30 second attention span that slowly gets better as they get older.

A couple of years ago I remember telling a kid, "Quit picking your nose, everybody in the stands is watching you."

It's hilarious.
They're little kids with the attention span of about one nanosecond, it's to be expected.
What's really funny is that the helmets are so large and their bodies are so small, that they look like bobbleheads running around.

Sure they are dances. Their origin is from ghetto culture. Do you honestly want your little boy/girl calling out to Souljah about doing the superman? Do you know what that is...what the song that popularized it is about?

Did the Macarena originate in the ghetto culture? Does it have sexual references in the song?
