I'd like to see that.

I was a huge Cubs fan when I was a kid.

This is the exact moment that I stopped following the Cubs, and pretty much, baseball altogether.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f8/Foul_ball_alou.jpg

After they blew that game, I was done with them.   I don't think I've watched a full game since, other than going to an occasional game at Great American Ballpark.

There was a gofundme campaign to send him to tonight's game to try and get rid of any "bad mojo" that might have left with the team.  He declined and the money was donated to charity which I think was the best outcome.

I will be at the game.

I am leaving in about one hour and fifty minutes.

As a life long Pirates fan, I obviously hope the Pirates can pull one out tonight although I don't have a lot of faith that they will.
I have been to LOTS of baseball games over the years, but this will be my first post-season game.
Paid $185 for the ticket.

If the Cubs win tonight, this will be as far as they go. They arn't going to beat the Cardinals, let alone win the whole enchilada.

At least no one can say that the Cardinals snuck into the playoffs this year. I'll probably regret saying this, but I'll be rooting for the cubbies this evening.

We'll see.

A one game playoff in major league baseball is comical, but that's the situation they're in.

I'd love to see them advance tonight.

World Series? Man, that's a long way off.

No not at all.  I think he should have kept his fucking hands to himself, but he did not lose the entire rest of the series for the Cubs.  They blew their shot of running that awesome pitching rotation through the playoffs with horrible defense and no run production.

ETA:  Moises could have easily made that catch if Bartman wasn't an idiot

Alou's urine soaked hands couldn't be trusted either. Gonzales and Dusty Baker allowed that game and that series to be lost, not Bartman.

I agree too. The one game playoff is a gimick, though I really like the single wildcard setup.

As a 'stros fan, I'm having some cognitive dissonance today.

Can't wait for tonight.
Our best against their best, winner moves on.

The Cubs are a great young team that is extremely fun to watch.
They are 46-20 since they got no-hit by Cole Hamels in late July.
They can hit, they can pitch, and they can play defense.
They have some holes, but it is going to be fun to watch.

Go Cubbies

That could certainly happen considering how hot the Cubs are right now.  They've had a hell of a season, and have gotten hot at just the right time.  We'll just have to watch the games and see how it all plays out.
