Exactly what Team Bush and the rest of the establishment said about Reagan. Cruz isn't extreme about anything. A fraction of the media has SAID that he's "to extreme". Big difference and IMO the majority of low information voters haven't yet formed opinions on him. This is the Republican party, not the democrap party. They don't get to pick our nominee. I say that we should pick the best possible conservative candidate to be our nominee and then go about the process of convincing the rest of the nation that he's "the guy" in 2016. We did it in 1980 and we can do it in 2016. Things are different now than then, but that doesn't mean that--once again--we have to pick a GD RINO to be the nominee. We did that in 1992, 2008, and 2012 and we lost all 3 times. W ran as a conservative, even though he wasn't much of one, and won. History indicates that RINOs are losers. It's just a fact, they can't win. Pale pastels won't get it done, you need a bold articulate conservative to show the difference. Cruz is a conservative and he is sufficiently articulate to explain his positions.

Finally, if the racist bullshit matters to you, or you believe it's a major factor for others, Cruz is a Hispanic guy....which every talking head on the left wing media says is a good thing...especially when everyone the left wants to run is angry, white, and old. I'm not saying I agree with that bullshit, I'm just saying that even for the adherents of identity / divide-conquer politics, Cruz is a wise choice.

So Trump went BK 4 times, including personal bankruptcy.  Your take?

She projects class, explains her positions and is utterly convincing.  She bet wrong in an absolutely upside down industry in turmoil.  How many really smart people missed the tech bubble?  When did you get in?  When did you get out?  I have brilliant investor friends who lost shitloads of money in net/net.

She's got what it takes to win.  She can explain what we believe.  Trump can't, because he doesn't believe it.  He could not explain how he would apply conservative principles, because he doesn't share them.  And we need someone who can explain it.

Fuck the first person who criticizes her for firing people.  It was her job.

You can't criticize her for firing people as CEO, but forgive Trump for declaring bankruptcy.

I don't blame her for firing people, if that was in the best interest of her business. What I do blame her for was the complete clusterfuck that was the Compaq merger. That was NOT in the best interest of anyone at HP, definitely not Hewlett whom she fought off with every means at her disposal, or any of the people that suffered the consequences of the boondoggle that she forced through. Yes, other big shareholders and board members supported her, but she lead the charge and it was a total Fing boondoggle. I'm not blaming a business leader for taking risks, that's what they do, but IMO that was both amateur hour and counter to the vision/history of the company.

Well said. I prefer her as VP to Cruz though.
I think when Trump implodes, like he seems to be well on his way to now, Cruz will pick up his supporters. That's why Cruz isn't attacking the idiot right now.

I just watched Carly respond to Megyn when Carly was asked "What do you think Trump meant when he said how could anyone vote for that face?"

The poise and grace Carly demonstrated in that answer, even as she knew every viewer was re-evaluating her appearance in the context of Trump's comments, were enough to convince me that I could vote for this woman.  She can handle whatever anyone throws at her.

The source of this Trump quote is a reporter from Rolling Stone. Rolling Stone!!

Is there an actual sound bite? I have yet to find one. So, we're taking the word of a Rolling Stone reporter.

Let me know when he denies saying that instead of doubling down on retard like he always does.

Here's the full quote from the Hill:

"Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?" Trump reportedly bellowed while watching his Republican presidential rival on the news. "I mean, she's a woman, and I'm not s'posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/253178-trump-insults-fiorinas-physical-appearance-look-at-that-face

Again, the quote came from a Rolling Stone article. The Hill just re-quoted the RS article.
Do you trust reporters from Rolling Stone? If he has an actual audio recording, then that would be definite proof.
Until then, we're trusting an article from Rolling Stone. There were supposedly others in the room, so perhaps the quote can be verified.

Based on past "news" from Rolling Stone (UVA rape story, anyone?), a healthy dose of skepticism is warranted.

Let me know when  he denies saying it.
Hint, he won't because he did.
If they ;printed a false quote he could sue them for libel.

Let me know when they offer definite proof.

LOL! We're talking Rolling Stone magazine, right?

I'm not saying it didn't happen, But based upon the source of the article, skepticism is definitely warranted. Rolling Stone can only blame itself for that, after the UVA fiasco. And the publisher of the magazine is a big left-wing supporter, they make no secret about that.

Sure, Donald could have said that. Or, he was misquoted. We'll see. Give him a chance to defend himself, the magazine hasn't even hit the newsstands yet.
And I do like Fiorina for POTUS.

Yup. Cruz actually believes the same things we do as well and people like Boehner hate him. He is the anti-establishment candidate people should get behind. Not this lifelong democrat Trump.

Nah, I just don't trust Rolling Stone magazine. I do not consider them a trusted news source. Do you?
I'll admit, it's possible he could have said it. Or, it's also possible he was misquoted. Trump will certainly respond.

In this thread, we argue over deck chairs on the Titanic...

If, by some miracle Carly Fiorina won the nomination, the Democrats would hang the whole HP debacle around her neck like an albatross. They'll be painting her as the female version of the asshole boss from Hell. And Joe Six Pack has had his fill of such people.

On one side, we have socialists. On the other, we have a collection of odds and sods with a man on horseback as the front runner.

Trump (warts and all and sad to say) is all that stands between Jeb Bush and another "landslide".... For the Dems.

That's a crawfishing post of I ever heard one.

Are women equal to men, or aren't they? In your post above, you have just stated that you do not believe that women are in any way equal to men.

All this is smoke.

What is Trump's record on employing women? Does he pay them equally with their direct male counterparts? Are there women in senior management other than his daughter?

THAT is how he will play with women voters.  Assuming the answer to the questions above is good (meaning no disparity), he needs to ask "the Mothers of America" these questions:

"What kind of America do YOU want for your kids?  The one we have currently where they go to college and return to live in your basement because their job in the service industry won't allow them to live on their own? Or, do you want this economy to produce quality jobs?" "Do you want you or your husband with an engineering degree to be laid off at age 45 to be replaced by a foreign worker on an H-1B visa?"

Start asking the voters the hard questions the D's can't answer. Hildabeast pays her female staff less than the males. The D's are HEAVILY in favor of H-1B's (or ANY other type of immigration).

He won't be cowed by the media. That will be a change from recent history.

Carly Fiorina is hot?  She's not ugly, but GD must be pretty backed up.

I think if I was a mother, I'd be wondering what kind of man looks at his own daughter and says she has an amazing figure, and he'd be with her if she wasn't his daughter. I'm no prude, but that's just creepy! It's one thing to say, "my daughter is beautiful, what man wouldn't want to be with an attractive, intelligent, charming, and accomplished woman like my daughter?" It's another to say you'd be with her if not your own daughter. Ewwwwwwww

I just saw Megyn Kelly ask Carly what she thinks about Donald saying that about her lol. Carly just shrugged it off. Typical Megyn trying to stir the pot..

So it's Megyn Kelly trying to stir the pot after Trump calls an opponent ugly?

I haven't watched the show yet; seems like it's just the colbert report with the volume backed down a notch or too. Weird.

No complaints; anything's better then david fucking letterman.

Nah, I just don't trust Rolling Stone magazine. I do not consider them a trusted news source. Do you?
I'll admit, it's possible he could have said it. Or, it's also possible he was misquoted. Trump will certainly respond.

His quote is being widely reported and he hasn't even tweeted about it. He said it and you're stretching.

If Trump didn't say it, why doesn't he just say "I didn't say it"?

I'll answer that question:  Because he did say it and the Rolling Stone reporter undoubtedly has it on tape.

It's dead. Ronald Reagan isn't walking through that door. The little guy in this country is done with capitalism. "Trickle down" means to them "piss on my back and tell me it's raining".

On the other, we have a collection of odds and sods with a man on horseback as the front runner.

lol.

People have declared my party dead for decades. It hasn't happened yet.

It is the dems that right now have few options and none of them very good.

I assume you'll be voting Sanders then?

And here we go....!

"Probably I did say something like that about Carly," Trump said. "I'm talking about persona. I'm not talking about looks."
