I think it should say, "seized from a CONVICTED drug dealer".

How do we know it's not seized from some shmoe who happened to have a little coke in the car?

When used correctly I have no problem with it.

Portsmouth PD used to have a nice BMW and an Excalibur kit car they had seized and painted up as PD cars. They used them for the DARE cops.

As a citizen I hope you then pulled them over with your four ways and enacted a civil citation of driving to endanger. Damn cops now days racing around like it is a video game!

No, but the cops shouldn't keep it either. It should be sold and the money spent on something to benefit the community. Not a show piece for some D-bag chief when he get coffee.

It shouldn't be a show car for a douche bag chief, and their shouldn't be a whole fleet of them, but as use as a DARE car it maybe worth it.

Well, the guy who drove it here just left... Wasn't here for a school DARE thing or anything... Drove in, made a racket, stayed around the car for a few minutes while people gawked. Went inside. Came out after a few minutes. Made a racket while leaving. I failed to notice if he had coffee while exiting, but it had to be either that or using the shitter.

At least that's not as bad as some douche I saw in my town with a convertible.

Really? a convertible with the top down? Is crime really so low that you just stroll around cruising enjoying the breeze? Old people and retired people...and old retired people..sigh.

According to most of the sovereign citizen wanna be's in GD, the only time something is illegal is when something bad happens to them.

The rest are self described libertarians who think the GOP will win forever if they legalize all the drugs.

Don't bother..

If it was a court ordered forfeiture, the state should have sold it.  Keeping it is still waste of tax money.

It is probably a decent deterrent.  Lets everyone know, get caught doing the crime - you loose your shit.  The fun ones are when the hunter/fisherman looses his truck (and boat) for breaking game laws.

If cops confiscate money because it has slight traces of drug residue (like most money does) is that also right?

Should only be allowed if the "dealer" was actually convicted.

But DARE and furthermore DARE cars never did any good and was a total waste of money.

If anything sell the cars, get money and use that to fund shit instead of tax payer money.  Buy some van dashes and a door for scotchymcdrinkerbean while they're at it.

On one hand, illegally procured money and good bought by it are fair game. However, the civil forfeiture is abused and corrupted.

Meh... If they let other people get away with similar tailights and dash-plates in their city, I don't care about them ignoring those rules. Not a big deal.

If they give other people tickets for that shit, while doing it on a PR vehicle, that's crap then.
