Your local deep-fried-everything fish house has better seafood than the Crimson Cockroach.

At least Olive Garden is pretty good for what it is.

Just your average chain places. I'm thinking steak and ribs now. There's a place called Westpoint BBQ that's pretty good.

They sell the mix at Costco and Walmart.

Only redeeming item and now I can make them at home, they're delicious with a little garlic spread mixed in.

I like the Red Lobster in Amherst, NY but the wife hates it so we don't go there very often

lol

I went there last week with the gf, and honestly is wasn't so bad ( we went in thinking it would suck)

We got lobster, crab, and shrimp.

It was not bad. I'd go back. For the cost.

They're that Nazis of seafood.  They murder shellfish, tuna and sea turtles and serve the remains as "food."

Living by the coast now, I understand why in-landers don't like seafood since Red Lobster is the mass marketed and seemingly only choice.

Op, try this out instead. Get a lobster for each person, and a pound of steamers per person as well. It will cost more than red lobster.
And it will be WORTH IT!

Charlottesville, Va reportedly has the most restaurants per capita in the U.S.  Needless to say , we don't go to Red Lobster.

When they first became popular, they were a big hit.  Keep in mind that those of us in fly-over country didn't have access to good seafood unless we had lots of money or lived on the Gulf.  And fried catfish isn't the same.

The food isn't great.  But it is quite nostalgic for this old-timer.

We went to one about 5 years or so, here in Northern Virginia, and oddly, we were about the only Caucasian folks in there.  Just stating the facts surrounding our visit.  We got big lobsters for a good price (that's what we went for), they were tasty, and we left.  Haven't been back since.  YMMV

Awful. I've even tried bringing my own butter to the restaurant in order to "fix" the seafood (they only offer oleo-margarine crap.) Didn't help.

Can't eat real seafood without real butter.

Ate at one in Houston about twenty years ago.  I can say without question it was the worst meal I've ever had at a sit-down restaurant.  Won't give them another chance.  Around here we have GOOD seafood places.
