Who gets fucked the worst by an improved Panama Canal? I remember reading business will shift from some places, but can't remember the details.

Do you know how many Ferraris and semesters at Harvard a few air pockets in a concrete pour of that size can buy?

Concrete mix looks like shit and it won't hold
They'll have to rip out and mix the concrete correctly |

The shit I see from The Chinese contractors here try to pull is amazing and even out paces the Saudi companies and their fucking retardedness,
Structural concrete is fairly simple once you have an approved mix that meets the 7 day and 28 day break tests. The trick is pouring it in really fucking hot temperatures, doing large pours with no cold joints and having the integrity to dump the load of a 12 cubic meter mud truck on the ground when it doesn't meet temp, air content and slump, this requires integrity...the Chinese and the Saudis do not know the meaning of that word. |

WOW - that is shit work - exactly what I would expect from China - Nothing like going with the lowest bidder.
On a side note - I am always awe struck at the scale of this thing. In the video when you see how small the guys look and then it pans out and you see how small that step is. Crazy. And agreed no way in hell I'd be down there - I would be saying send that Chinese fucker down there. Any one got an over under on how many days until it completely fails? |

Just think how expensive it will be when it fails when a ship is in transit and blocks a channel as it sits high and dry.
plus all the traffic that will be backed up, global trade will be at a standstill for some items till the ship gets moved and off loaded. I wonder how many people have died so far on this project. |
