See, the BLT is modern and artificial because you don't grow lettuce and tomatoes at the same time. I'm a Berkley tie-dye or stump-of-the-world fan myself.

Bacon you can make any time... Except I lack fridge space to cure any right now.

Painless, you ever eat just  tomato/mayo/pepper sandwich.   With a good tomato, those are pretty damned good.

But, I have to ask, why not throw on a piece of cheese and some lettuce and finish the sandwich.
here's a bacon tip:  best bacon I've had from a grocery store.  I tell people about it all the time, and they always switch to it once they try it.

Liver salad (or chopped liver) sandwich

The proper way to fix a liver salad sandwich:

1.  Put chopped liver on a plate

2.  Walk over to garbage can

3.  Scrape that nasty stuff into the garbage.

4.  Go make a bacon and tomato sandwich.

http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=77649

Enjoy.

They are just a different animal. Lettuce changes the whole dynamic. They're both good. But with a good, acidic home grown tomato, I prefer just bacon, tomato, MW on toast.

A BLT with good tomatoes, Dukes mayo, white toast and with plenty of salt is probably my favorite.  The lettuce is optional and I usually just skip it...  I might have to run to the store tomorrow to fulfill my craving now.

I came here to post the Rueben sandwich.  I like to use Boars Head products and always turns out awesome. The more I thought about it, if I could only chose one, it would be the BLT.

I used to work on a project around the corner from Reuben's In midtown Manhattan. I insisted we go there when job site meetings ran long. Surprisingly, it was not one of the better Reubens I have ever had.

ETA - I just looked up Reuben's because I remembered that there was some uncertainty about the origins of the name and found this

"The deli at 244 Madison Avenue remained until late 2001 when the restaurant was forced to close owing to health code infractions."
