Sweet water restsraunt has an avocado crab melt that is awesome.

XCR... great choice of sandwich. Very hard to beat a good one.    best 1 I've ever had was in Romulus, Michigan at a place called Wheat and Rye sports bar.

the Reuben is the king of sandwiches. Strangely, I don't like rye, I don't like thousand island, I don't like sauerkraut, and corned beef is only "ok" to me....but combined it's like the fucking Avengers of sandwiches. It's the GOAT.

The best one I ever had was at the laundromat in Kalama, WA. Hands down the best of all time. Second fav would be the one from Treasure Island in Vegas. It was pretty fantastic too. I tried the one at Old Ebbitt Grill in Washington DC, because everyone said it was great...and it wasn't half the sandwich that I expected. Definitely over rated.

My favorite sandwiches are the ones I don't have to make myself.
Rubin or a french dip come in second.
Local place (Signature Sandwich Company if you're ever in Florissant MO)  has one called the Pig 3 Way that I would punt a puppy for.

if there isn't a spicy pork sandwich named the "war pig", there ought to be.

all subsequent posts must now include a name proposal for a new sandwich.  extra points for mythological references, obscure movie quotes, or calvin and hobbes.

The Sports Page.  Triple header has corned beef, roast beef, ham, swiss, pepper jack, and American on sourdough.

LMAO... I just laughed so loud, 2 people came over to my office.

Painless, you ever eat just  tomato/mayo/pepper sandwich.   With a good tomato, those are pretty damned good.

But, I have to ask, why not throw on a piece of cheese and some lettuce and finish the sandwich.

here's a bacon tip:  best bacon I've had from a grocery store.  I tell people about it all the time, and they always switch to it once they try it.

Yep.

I also like to toast two pieces of bread, mayo, slice of American or cheddar cheese on each, tomato slice, pepper. Then broil in the oven open-faced.

I think I might have to seek out one of the bahn mi sandwiches, sounds good.

I like cuban and monte cristo sandwiches if I'm out at a restaurant.

What I'd make for myself, someone already described ribeye with peppers, provolone, and garlic butter on a hoagie is one I like to make,  or for breakfast,  bacon, banana, and peanut butter on toast.

Used to be the Roxie Supreme made by the Roxie Deli in San Francisco.  French roll (hard crust) with everything.    They changed ownership and it's not the same.

Safeway in San Francisco used to make a good roast beef sandwich. I'd get the hard french roll with horseradish. Used to go to the promenade by the beach, enjoy the ocean and eat there.
