If I'm going real simple, I like a nice smoked ham, provolone, bread and butter pickles, tomato, and mustard on sourdough. I love grilled sourdough. Flank steak (med. rare) w/ provolone, baby spinach, and pesto. Ah, Pesto. Damn near proof there's a god |

I got really burnt out on sandwiches when I was painting in school (we are talking the cheap lunch meat and single wrapped kraft cheese, etc.)
Now when I make a sandwich, I go all out, albeit only once every couple of months. It is (all Boar's Head) Blazin' Buffalo chicken, hard salami, sandwich peperoni, provolone cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, and some hot sauce on an Italian bread from the deli. I will put the meats and the cheese in the oven for a couple of minutes to get it toasty/melted, then move it to the roll, put the veggies and sauce on it. |

The Reuben is up there, but my personal favorite is a good Italian sammich.

any sammich the maker makes.
breakfast sammiches are solid gold. toast, cheese, egg, ham....maybe some hot sauce or catsup |

I had a sandwich at the Buckhead Diner in Atlanta that I have been trying to replicate, it was the absolute best sandwich I have ever eaten. I've come real close but there is a little something missing. It was warm rare roast beef with goat cheese and caramelized onions, arugula, balsamic vinegar and an herbed mayo on a ciabatta roll. I know it sounds all fufu but damn was it ever good.

Yep Normally if I'm eating out and want a ~$10 option I'll always pick the reuben if it is on the menu. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I knew opening this thread that a Ruben would be the OP's #1 pick.
Op is good person. Same here, Ruben's FTW! |

Pastrami and Egg Salad on dark rye if I'm at a deli that will do it.
Everyday: Thick cut fried balogna sandwich with either a kraft single or a nice piece of swiss. Lately, no sandwiches due to a restricted diet for a few more weeks. I've lost 35 pounds so no complaints. |

Italian with pepperoni, salami, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, olives and jalapenos. All slathered in Italian dressing.

I had an incredible roast beef po-boy at K-Paul's. And for one outside of NOLA, there was a bar and grill in the Bank of America building in Little Rock that had a sandwich called the Triple-Header. 3 meats (ham, turkey and something else), 3 cheeses (swiss, cheddar and ????) on buttered Texas Toast. We called it a heart attack on a plate. It was awesome. I haven't had one since 1998. |

Chicken or Turkey Club probably. Or Chicken Parmeson. Or meatball.
Adding to this confusion, I just had an amazing grilled premium cheese with thick-cut bacon on Naan bread that was pretty amazing. I suppose this post is to say "I can't pick just one". |

Homegrown heirloom tomato and ham sandwich, with plenty of Duke's mayo. View Quote This or some Miracle whip instead of mayo. I Like both. Tomato needs to be about as thick as a good steak...with salt and pepper. I also like just a thick heirloom tomato slice with salt and pepper and colby cheese. NOTHING else. |

Have to go with a rare roastbeef with Swiss, mayo with a little S&P on a hero.
Yes, on a hero, not a Hoggie, not a sub, not a wedge, but a hero. |
