Yep

ETA: My dad makes the best reuben. It is the reuben which all others are measured.

Normally if I'm eating out and want a ~$10 option I'll always pick the reuben if it is on the menu.

You mean I can only pick ONE?  Hot or cold?

OP is 100% correct.

Corned beef reuben is the only reuben. Pastrami is a different sandwich.

Muffuletta, po-boy, Philly cheesesteak, Cuban are all contenders

Yep, that's how I am. I have eaten a reuben at every place I could order one

Usually I'm disappointed, but sometimes... Oh, god, sometimes.. it's so fucking good.

the greatest sandwich i have ever tasted was roast beef, gouda, sauerkraut, and roasted red peppers on rye.  was a gamble, but the sweetness of the peppers against the acidity of the kraut was a thing of wonder.

am also a huge fan of the reuben, and pastrami on anything.  one of my goals this fall is to start curing my own corned beef and pastrami.

All the sammiches.

One of the few benefits of living in the NE

Good delis all around me.

Local place makes a killer Italian combo, great bakery's here make it mo betta.

My boring fallback is Black Forest ham and Swiss in good rye with LTM.

Simple classic FTMFW.
