No. It was classic because it was done right. The wheels, tires are not right for this care. Maybe the 2015 vette

Not into the blacked out craze but I get it. those flares are no bueno.
|
|
Meh, I'd drive it but it's been too modernized while making a lame attempt to keep it original. Stupid-big fender flares don't match the lines.
Look at that big lexan stock-car spoiler. Really? My dad had a red '63 split-window, he regrets selling it every time we talk about it. |

Whoever did the flaring on the rear should be beat with a tire iron.

The story behind the car is not what you would think.

Who ever did the rear end flair and the wheels should be beaten....

I absolutely hate the modern low-pro wheels/tires on muscle cars. Here's a rear pic of that thing: http://earth66.com/img/Brian-Hobaughs-1965-Corvette-Stingray-C2.jpg ETA: pallet cleanser needed!!!! http://www.corvetteblogger.com/images/content/021511_2.jpg View Quote Notice the ricer-ific stickers. Notice they're all from the latest "upgrades". I guess if they come in the box when you order stuff, you gotta stick them somewhere. |

That looks like fucking shit!
The pro touring look is terrible on about 99% of the vehicles I see.. |
|
That thing is butt ugly and those wheels look retarded. I don't get it what was the point? To screw up a classic? You could put ten foot wide tires on that thing and its still gonna handle like a brick unless you seriously modify the suspension at which point you shouldve just got a c5+ to begin with.

Those types of modded classics have 2 windows of glory, the immediate present (where the "style" is en vogue) and maybe a follow on renaissance 20-30 years later.
Otherwise, they will be the source of many "what were we thinking" retrospectives that litter automotive history. |

Those retro flared big wheel fucking dumpsters are a travesty to all that is Corvette.
I'm ashamed that I even restored those at one time if this is what people are doing to them now. |
