No.  It was classic because it was done right.  The wheels, tires  are not right for this care.  Maybe the 2015 vette

Meh, I'd drive it but it's been too modernized while making a lame attempt to keep it original.  Stupid-big fender flares don't match the lines.
Look at that big lexan stock-car spoiler.  Really?

My dad had a red '63 split-window, he regrets selling it every time we talk about it.

Whoever did the flaring on the rear should be beat with a tire iron.

Did you know about this car, or did you see it on /r/carporn this morning like I did?

That car is LITERALLY my definition of 'stancenation.'

Yep, they should have flared the whole side out at the upper fender line...  the flair job they did doesn't fit the lines right...

/DRIVE on YouTube did a segment on this bad red machine a while back. The flares are there to cover up the massive tires-315-30-18.

Notice the ricer-ific stickers.  Notice they're all from the latest "upgrades".  I guess if they come in the box when you order stuff, you gotta stick them somewhere.

That thing is butt ugly and those wheels look retarded. I don't get it what was the point? To screw up a classic? You could put ten foot wide tires on that thing and its still gonna handle like a brick unless you seriously modify the suspension at which point you shouldve just got a c5+ to begin with.

The car is raced regularly. Those mods are functional.

There is a good YouTube vid of the car, and the owner. He runs through what he's done with the car. He's owned it for a very long time.

Those types of modded classics have 2 windows of glory, the immediate present (where the "style" is en vogue) and maybe a follow on renaissance 20-30 years later.

Otherwise, they will be the source of many "what were we thinking" retrospectives that litter automotive history.

Oh I've seen it run, it's lightning quick and owner is a cool dude, but they keep playing up it's "from the factory" condition after it's been so bastardized.

Could have something to do with the car being clearly at a car show, next to the Willwood booth, and he was paid to do a little advertising for them?

Nah, its gotta be rice...

Yes, side pipes.  Corvettes of that era need side pipes.  Before I die, I hope to own a muscle car with side pipes.z
