For the most part this. Doesn't say that much, almost never hear him talk shit, but lets his driving speak for him. He can out-drive just about everyone on that show. Sucks to see this happen. Probably a significant chunk of money of his down the drain because he's an owner as well as the driver now.

It looks like it got out of the groove to me and only one wheel stuck.

It sucks to see him bang up his new car, but hopefully he has a fast recovery and comes back with something else.

Define "terribly fast".  I think we have different definitions.  It's an 1/8th mile track and I bet that car is trapping anywhere from 150's-170's on a full 1/8th mile pass.

Whoever welded that seat belt tab in needs kicked in the dick. The seat broke off the main hoop also. This is why you don't let some dipshit that can't weld build your cage. Car was unsafe before it even went down the track. The bottle flying away like a bullet was dumb also. I hate to see people get hurt, but stupid games and the prizes to be won.

Terribly fast would be if he made it a bit further down the track. What he was saying is he was "lucky" it happened closer to the start than the finish.

My neighbor two doors down had a couple of observations. A lot of guys wreck their cars in the first few races they run.
Either they stepped up a huge amount in the power department or don't know how squirrely it can get.
He thinks traction was a problem off the line. a seasoned driver would have backed off till the both got traction and nailed it and just took the loss.
But no one wants to lose in a car they just bought so he was still in it. RR tire was the first to get good traction so it went hard left.
He said if it was a front suspension failure why when pulling up on the wrecker are both wheels pointing the same way?
They look fairly well aligned in that shot. Big jump in HP + Wanting to win at any cost from the start rather than learning the car first= bad combination.

My neighbors car I help push it up and off the trailer every time there is a race.

My daughter took this one at 5am or so. Firing that thing up that early makes for grumpy neighbors. Damn it's loud.
So the two of us push it up I always take the passenger side.

When it's nice out yes, lately we have been loading in the afternoons so he can race somewhere in California.
He has done so well in it he has a guy who wants to buy it.I don't know him really well but we do talk.
I don't think that stuff exists in Mexico, They look at that thing like a god. But I think that it.s because it's louder than hell. I love that sound.
To the rest on the world it's just noise. He tunes it in the middle of the day so as not to wake anyone.

If you look at some of the other videos of the car leaving (other passes) it looked like it was going right on a lot of them.  Looked like the rear bars needed some more tweaking because it wasn't leaving straight.

Maybe we do but that's beside the point.  The car was off in the marbles by 100 - 150 feet so it wasn't going anywhere near it's trap speed.  If it had happened 600 feet out, you seriously don't think that it would likely have been much worse?

I seriously doubt it'll hit 150 in the 1/8 and I'll wash yer ass and drink the water if it'll do 170 in that distance.

Those are national record type numbers for door slammers.

Now something might have broken as that's always a possibility but honestly, it looks like it got out of the groove and he tried to drive through it (why I don't know because his numbers for the run were already FUBAR'd), ran out of talent and hit the damn wall.

I see why they run on the street too. They probably avoid a tech inspection like the plague.

A car like that NEEDS a good thorough tech inspection from a professional inspector. It might keep one of them alive someday. You can get a real inspection at any divisional meet from one of the NHRA's guys and you can take what he says to the bank.

It's a miracle that cloud of nitrous didn't find a spark somewhere in that melee and fry the guy.

Hope he recovers quickly and learns from his mistake.

Wake up! That's what all race car drivers want. It's called a sponsor don't you even get that.
All drivers want to drive for a big name owner and how do they do that? Do you really think all NASCAR sprint car drag cars at the big meets do it on their own dime.Formula one and Indy cars wouldn't exist without owners who hire drivers. That's how racing works which you clearly don't understand.
So the owner of the car paid him as a driver to drive it. Are you from another planet or just 12 years old?
