So I was in Kentucky on business this past week and I have to say I had a pretty good time! It is such a pretty place and we went and drove through some really pretty areas and the people were really nice too. Of course we made a stop at the corvette museum and a distillery as well but since I was there on business I know I missed a bunch of stuff. Oh yeah and I had to bring a souvenir back from there so I went to the distillery where they make the moon pie moonshine because well MOON PIE..... So what else did I miss that I needed to do?

Mammoth Cave!

Did the Corvette Museum still have the big pit in it? Have they repaired all the smashed up Vettes?

I call KY home, spent my first 25 years there. Once the Army has chewed me up and spit me out I'll move back for good. Hope you enjoyed it.

Fucked your cousin did you?

It really is a nice place as far as scenery goes.  I always enjoy driving through on my way south.

They were working on the pit in late June, concrete guys were done filling it in ,as best as I could see.  They looked like they were looking to lay out for the  beams,...  math and science type stuff.     The damaged Vettes  were on display.

Cool  tour , cool place.  Pretty good burrittos'  at the gas station / burrittio shop by the way we came in.

I wish we had time to stop at  the track across the highway .   Looked like a road course.  cars sounded awesome.  Really wish I checked it out.

Sorry for the hijack/

Lexington is home...but the downtown hipster and liberal types run the show.  This county is blue every time I bet.

Seems that the only way to continue working here is to emigrate to jessamine and commute.

Glad you enjoyed your time here OP.

Went through on the way to GA a few years ago.  Stayed in Brooks/Hillview and made an emergency stop in Munfordville.

Beautiful state.  My mom's dad was from Jackson.

They have the pit covered and no they havent been repaired. In fact they have some of the ones that are messed really bad on display still full of dirt. They had a video of pulling the first one out called the blue devil. They set it down and a guy opened the door and it started right up.

Kentucky is a great state.  Mammoth Cave is awesome.  If you pass through Louisville, there are tons of parks, a great zoo, lots of art fairs, etc.  Louisville is also one of the top food cities in the country, we have an endless supply of independently owned restaurants with great menus.  Night at the Derby is going on, the Frazier Museum always has good stuff, endless stuff to explore on the bourbon trails, etc.
