Someone else already mentioned it, but Taman Shud. Even if DNA evidence one day identifies the guy, there's still so much WTF in and around the case.

If you guys want to get in depth into unsolved crimes, disappearances, missing persons, etc. try Web Sleuths. Interesting site. I could waste a lot of time there. Yes, I go down that rabbit hole occasionally. It's interesting how the information age can let just about anyone take a crack at solving some of this stuff. |

I had never heard of them. Kind of akin to the "ghost lights" I think in West Virginia?

Whatever the fuck happened to the Roman Legio IX Hispania
They pretty much disappeared from the record without a trace by the year 140 A.D |

My favorite mystery is when I'm doing laundry and put everything in the dryer, when its done everything is dry except for 1 sock. How the hell does that happen? Is some sock gnome breaking in to my house when the dryer is on, then right before the cycle is over, they get 1 sock wet and throw it in, then sneak out? WTF?

I've studied that case for years. What do you think it was? I lived there for almost a decade and spoke with a lot of people about it. Most people there, surprisingly, take it at face value. What strikes me about it, and all UFO stories is the narrative follows popular media. Prior to "Close Encounters", all UFO reports, with the exception of Roswell, told of beings that were a wide range of shapes and bodies, many were talll, had different colored skins, or even fur. Post "Close Encounters" almost all UFO reports became either Nordics or Greys. This account was one of the former, and the description of the being is unlike any other ever reported. (Even the Mothman, 3 hours away.) So, as a "typical" UFO sighting of the time, and type, that lends credence to it being just another tall tale. However, the media report and the number of witnesses lend a lot of credibility to it, which most UFO cases just don't have. My opinion on it is that t is a cool local story that adds a lot of flair to what is a desolate and remote outpost in WV. (It's an hour from basically anything.) If it is true, then it is even cooler. But.. it doesn't hold a candle to Kecksburg PA, a few hours north.. |

If you're into UFOs and the like, check out Japan Airlines 1628 over Alaska in 1986.

Lincoln was assassinated by a group of people as part of an intended decapitation strike against the U S government. As for JFK, I tend to agree with John B.
