Not defending dave here...
I believe he broke his nose moments before going on stage at Jimmy Kimmel. I could be wrong. The bandaid was there to stop the blood |

I remember when they were popular. I don't remember them ever being "good" and relistening to their catalog confirms this.

I just saw them a couple weeks ago. Eddie can still play, but David Lee Roth quit trying about 1/4 of they way through the show... he sang about half the lyrics to the songs. Referring to the crowd, he said to Eddie: "Man, these guys suck!"
I always wanted to hear Eruption played live... it was awesome, but they are dead men walking. |

they began the spiral into sucktown shortly after 1984.
van hagar should have never happened. |

I liked Van Halen. I liked Van Haggar. I think I even liked Gary Cherone.
Van Halen now is just some old guys trying to keep it going whatever that might be. Sammy actually puts on a pretty good show, |

1979 was a long time ago. My first year at high school football camp as a freshman and that's what everybody was jamming to on the 8 tracks.

Don't get me wrong, the Red Rocker is a great stand alone artist but he has the uncanny ability to suck the life out of any group of great musicians and make the mediocre at best (much like Ted Nugent).
see van hagar see also chickenfoot |

I like VH with Hagar. I cannot stand David Lee Roth's stupid freaking shrieks.
Balance is still one of my favorite albums and I don't like much music from that era/genre. |

No, I don't remember when they were good. When did that happen? |

Van Hagar sucks ass.
The band stopped playing Rock and Roll and began making Pepsi jingles. "Why Can't This Be Love" and "Dreams" and "Right Now" are SO fucking corny... |

No, sorry, I don't remember that ever happening. I remember there being a a band by that name fronted by a singer who yapped like a Chihuahua. Is that what you were referring to? |

Saw 'em with Roth and later with Hagar, enjoyed both concerts very much... but I was a SH fan long before he was with VH and still am, so I'd be lying if I didn't say I preferred them with him to without him.

I came in at 1984 due to age, and then backtracked my way through the previous albums. I lived Van Hagar as it was happening. Essentially different bands, and I liked them both for what they were. EVH appears to be a world class asshole. Backing vocals suck without Anthony. I saw them a year or two ago in Houston. I won't be paying to see them again. |
