Definitely, prayers sent.

But... I feel doctors are to quick to induce labor, and do c-sections now days. It seems like they do this cause they don't want bothered at night and on weekends.

Humans have been having children for thousands if years without all this, and we survived.

Last time I spoke to her dad was about 10:00 am yesterday (Wednesday).

She was still in labor; she has a LOT of 'stretching' to do. (Hurts to think about this!)

She may have a C-section on Wednesday evening.

Talked to her dad a couple of hours ago. They're still trying to get her to have the baby naturally. As of 11:00 or so MST they were about to make her break her water.

Wish she were more like my wife. Mrs Symptoms has had 3 boys and spent 2 hours each in labor.

Prayers and Best Wishes!

Is there a reason to induce after only being late a couple of days?  Too late now, but if mom and baby are healthy, let nature take it's course.

Things are a lot different these days.  I was born in '79, 4 weeks overdue  My mom had to go in for fetal stress tests every week past her due date.  Everything was fine, so the docs just let me chill in there as long as I wanted.

Good luck and congrats OP

As of 10:00 MST she's STILL in labor! They are trying as hard as they can to have the baby naturally. But she's just taking a looooong time.

My wife, OTOH, had 3 kids; the first 2 were 2 hours labor each, and the third was 1 1/2 hours. Third boy (who is 14 and I'm enjoying being his papa) was born during a serious snow storm and the midwife got stuck in the snow; his father delivered him.

Thanks all for your prayers. She's not in any trouble, she's a healthy young lady, and, while this is taking an abysmally long time, it isn't unusual for a labor to last more than 24 hours.

Congrats!

You get to be that weird uncle with the dungeons and dragons art airbrush on his conversion van, a pile of guns, and zip-up ankle-boots.

Mama is doing fine. Gran'ma (my brother's wife) is there (Virginia iirc) to help out.

His name is Tristan. No pics as of yet; I'll wait to see if they put him on FB.

Mother and child are OK. Father (who has 3 by a previous marriage) is very happy. One set of grandparents is ecstatic.

Just now learned: after such a long period in the delivery room, she had a C-section.

Papa doesn't want any pics of his kids online.

But thus far, Tristan looks like a generic baby, so you're not missing anything.
